I've received a credit of £5 to one of my CC's by way of an apology from a retailer for a service error. Quite happy with that, it was only a tiny things and I didn't really think twice about it but they made the offer which was a nice touch. Also good that it's a credit like that so I can spend it anywhere rather than being tied to spending it in that retailer.

I've been doing lots of house sorting and decluttering in the last couple of months which is great. I've sent lots to charities and some things have gone to friends, only when they wanted them mind, there was no foisting off :rotfl:

I've also been taking the little and often approach so rather than waiting for big charity bags to be full as soon as I have a few things they've gone in a bag and the bag straight into the car. Then, when I've been out and about I've just dropped them off wherever.

I'm sure I could have sold some things but quite frankly I just don't have the time or energy and you also only get rid of them that way in dribs and drabs so I've also valued the 'mental relief/lightness' of just getting rid!

Lots more to do but pretty much down to clothes now and for those I am going to try one of those Clothes for cash places

Regards

Money related jobs I must do this week!

- ring bank to get £3.86 charges refunded, have already called them about this yet there they are! (CC took a big DD when i'd already paid them taking my account OD for the first time ever )
- Nationwide Flex 5% ends 24/3, shop around for alternatives but pretty sure this will in the end just go to this years ISA saying as I've spent the money I already had earmarked for it

- check of annual mortgage statements to my spreadsheet

- pay BTL gas bill

- update BTL spreadsheet with what it owes me :o:o

- call MnS as various delivery charges still not refunded after they charged me in error (they've done some but not all so something must have gone wrong)

Phone ringing, will return!

- still need to find new Gas Tariff At the moment it looks like i'm better moving to the standard tariff. Comparison sites seem to suggest I *could* save up to £150 pa but I've never heard of most of the providers and hear so many switching woes that at the moment it's unlikely that I will move providers

Hi all

A NSD for me made better by the £11 'sorry' payment that is winging it's way to me. £16 owed to me by family member should be repaid this week and another £21 repaid today from other people

Crikey, 14.43 already, must find a t-con where I can cook my lunch during it and they won't notice :rotfl:

All these lists seem to be missing the following

- have a cuppa
- relax for a bit
AND
- book some of those days off!

I'm too lazy to sell my stuff when decluttering too ATT, far easier to give to charity
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

A belated thanks to SmlSave and a very big congratulations too as I can see that Smallet2 has arrived :j

Just popping on for a quick update though have had a unsigned in lurk via phone over the weekend :p

So far this year I have made OP's of £767 re Jan and Feb so a bit behind the £1000 that I should have been at. Actually that's just my standard target so i'm way behind my aspirational target!

Another £30 'free money' gained re a complaint but most of the time I just wished things worked right first time!

A bit of an expensive weekend as £12 for meal out yesterday and will be about £20 today as going out later.

I've dropped below another milestone so overall balance now starts with £130k rather than £131k

I sent my update to the MFi3 challenge last week but I've submitted the same figure I did in Dec, that was because I was also using my savings to offset figure but they took quite a dint with changing the car and home improvement, oh well, they needed doing and things are now back on track

I've had my pay review too with a modest but welcome pay rise and a rather nice bonus which like last year was far more than I expected so will be looking forward to that; I've also got some other work related money coming to me which is a one off but that will be good too

Just trying to open some new savings accounts on line but it's proving tricky and is how I came to get the £30 complaint money in the first place. I need to open them as old rate has now expired but it's so frustrating when it doesn't all work as it should so can feel another complaint call coming on

It's hard to believe we are now well into March but good to see the weather is now turning albeit i'm sitting here with my heating on :o

Hope you are all well and that your MFW plans are going well

Well my wok PC is having a total meltdown so thought I'd hop on here while it thinks about sorting itself out!

Payday not too far off and I can't wait as it should be a nice chunky one due to a few one offs. Not quite sure what the total will be yet so will be good to see it in black and white and then work out what to do with the money :D

£30 unplanned expenditure over the weekend due to family visits etc but don't begrudge that and a good time had by all

The complaint I mentioned in my last post became ongoing and resulted in another £52 by way of apology, all very nice but most of the time just want things to work as they should as complaints can just take over your life

Talking of which... yes, another complaint resolved, not quite sure how much this one will net yet but should be c.£20 including a refund of c£10 which was charged to me in error

All improvement works are now finished at home but I do still have some *stuff* to sort out :o is it Gally who says room of doom :rotfl:

I don't quite have a room of doom but certainly do have a chaos corner. It's definitely getting smaller but is so tedious to sort, what is it about the last few piles of carp that you either just can't bring yourself to sort or don't know what to do with it

I really need to tackle it though as feel sure my N@tionwide card reader is in there and I MUST find it as not been able to transfer the interest for several months and the 5% rate expires imminently and I need to get the £2.5k out which will form part of my ISA subscription for 2014/15. Don't quite think i'll have enough to fill it by 6/5 and also wavering a bit as have read news that the T$B will be launching a Plus account and I think it was 5% on £2k ish and it's not for a fixed duration like N@tionwide was. That rate even after tax will be better than any ISA, decisions decisions

Right, work PC back on thank goodness as got urgent call pretty soon

Hope you all MFW'ers are doing well

:j:j:j:j:j:j Found the N@tionwide card reader and was not in chaos corner at all! Much to my embarrassment I haven't transferred any interest for 8 months, I couldn't believe it, really didn't think it was that long

All transfers done now and a little haul of £65.14 for my labours

Not having a good day at work - no change there then - so really shouldn't be on here but needed five mins normality. Will extend that for another 10 mins and treat myself to lunch, HM and from freezer of course :p
