Well yesterday turned out to be a NSD after all, not sure about today but hopefully it will be low spend. Also off to family for Sunday lunch so that will be good
I've had a few central heating problems recently but all sorted now and thankfully all fixed within the terms of my cover plan. I did waver a year or two ago about increasing the cover but I've used it a few times now and so far covered itself so looks like I made the right decision
I've also just been looking at current and past gas usage. We've not had a bad winter compared to last so I know that's a factor but currently tracking at less than this time last year.
The only other annoyance is that I accidently put in a really high electricity reading a couple of months ago which resulted in my DD being increased, it's all sorted now re reading but DD still at £30 per month rather than usual £13-15 but i'll wait a couple of months and then adjust the DD down again.
A fairly bright but very windy morning here
Regards

Just been reviewing my accounts and spreadsheet, as you do
In an ideal world, so no unexpected emergencies etc then I look to be on track to pay the IO part off by October 2016 which really doesn't feel that far off :j
I also need to change the way I update into the MFi3 T3 challenge as i'd always planned to submit IO balance minus savings which i'd not done before and again I keep forgetting to deduct savings from the balance I submit so must get better at that during the next update. My challenge was to get the IO part down from £64,500 to £30,000 over the three years. If I keep the way I'm going with monthly OP's and savings then I should hit that target. This assumes no interest rate changes of course
I've also got a couple of savings things coming to maturity across 2015 and 2016 which fingers crossed will make the final push to the IO getting cleared during 2016
Things weighing heavily on my mind at the moment- BTL
- Pension provisions
- S&S ISA
- If I decide to move!

Well I ended up only spending £2 over the weekend so all good there
Tonight i'm off for a short notice meal with old friends and hopefully it will come in under £30
I've been doing some wardrobe and drawer sorting so now have four nice bags full which will go to a combination of charity shops and a charity fayre thing. I got foiled last time I tried to take some clothes to a cash for clothes type place so they went to a normal CS as I didn't want them cluttering up the house but this time I hope to take some of the bag contents and exchange them for cash
There's still lot to go at in the wardrobes, this was by way of a first cut/easy to do!
The other things i'm getting a bit better at is taking some time during the day for 'my' stuff, I tend to wake pretty early and just start work straight away, as there is always more work than time I can easily rack up 60-70 hours a week without even trying. So, i'm trying to not just start work as soon as i'm up and about but take the first hour to do some tasks that needed doing, i'm trying to not start work before 7.30 and hoping to get that to 8am before too long
Can't wait for the Easter break to have some time off :j It's also fair to say can't wait for this pay day. I made a hefty OP out of last months salary and also opened the Plus accounts leaving me pretty tight for the month
Regards

I have toyed with the idea of opening other current accounts, especially NW as I have other accounts with them - but have never got round to it. Must look at it seriously when I have got some time (haha).
Feeling a bit better, thanks - energy returning; but need to get myself through next week before I think my emotional state will return to something like normal. (hehe).

S&S ISA
Are you having problems with it, or do you just feel like you should be contributing more? If the latter, I was *very* impressed when you mentioned your total back in January? :T0 -

MCI
Pleased to hear you've got a bit of energy returning MCI and hope next week whizzes by for you to get it out of the way
Yes, have a look at the NW account that pays 5%, it's still open to those who haven't had one before, I did mine last year so the rate has expired so the T$B ones came along at just the right time and has no expiry date on the rate though of course they could change the T&C's at some point

Hi Ed, thanks, yes, my investments are at quite a healthy figure - in the 70k's however, the reasons it is on my mind are- only about £20k of that £70k is within the S&S ISA as I kept 'not getting round'
to putting more in which can be a bit of a faff to bed and ISA them but I know it's a faff I need to do
- I'm in severe danger of eggs in one basket and no-one could ever accuse me of having a diverse portfolio so I need to get moving on that

Just sitting waiting for a teleconference line to open
Got another £10 'we're sorry' gift card in the post this morning but shame I had to chase it!
Still managing to do a few 'me' tasks here and there and trying to stick to remembering that I don't have to be working just because i'm awake!
Treating myself to a massage within the next week which on reflection was badly timed as money is tight this month and pay day can't come fast enough.
Got rid of one charity bag to a friend for her to include in an event she is doing and they should sell well as there was some really good stuff in there including brand new. I would add that those brand new things are things I've had for a long time and some of them gifts; I know that sounds awful but i'm trying to get over the guilt that some things bring e.g. someone bought that thoughtful gift, i'm grateful but I don't like it and it's taking up space! I've been reading some useful posts and linked articles on a diff MSE thread and that's really given me a boost in that I should recognise that i'm not a bad person for giving gifts away and that i'm just releasing them to be enjoyed by someone who will appreciate and use them. Also, part of the gift process is the enjoyment in choosing and giving, not then needing to know it's on display in recipients house etc
One bag left to go to a CS shop and that's in the car and hope to drop it off later today
The clothes CS bags I have will hopefully go to one of those cash for clothes places over the weekend
Regards
