Hi Lula, thanks for stopping by, yes, you're right, it's hard these days to spend significant amounts of money. I'm not sure whether that comes with age or whether it's because we are MRW'ers ? ;)

I'm definitely going to have the decorating done, that's an absolute must now. Once that is done I'm intending to have the carpets, curtains and suite cleaned and then see where I go from there as I agree with you, don't want to spend too much money if I'm thinking of moving

I have though arranged to get a quote to have the suite recovered, it's a free quote so will just give me a feel for potential spends though I'm under no illusions that it will be a cheap option :o

Right, I appear to have bought a new (to me) car!

Spent far more than I'd intended so a big chunk out of my savings but I really should have done it a long time ago so feel relieved I've made the decision now and that I won't be constantly worrying about what is going to go wrong with my car next

I think I got a fairly good deal and I'm really please with the car that I got. Just waiting to hear when I can take delivery but I think it will be early to mid next week so not too long to wait

One thing that did mystify me when car shopping was the complete lack of interest from some garages, you'd think they didn't want to sell e.g. walked round one showroom without a single salesperson approaching me before I left. In another, I arrived with a list of 6 cars that I wanted to see (having looked them up on the internet). Having wandered for ages (one of these large autocarpark places) I finally asked someone for help and was just pointed in the right direction and left to my own devices. All very odd and not quite what I'd expected when you'd think in this economy they'd be doing their best to get sales?

Well, the car aside it's also been a bit of a spendy week this week due to a combination of family visiting and needing to go to a chiropodist.

Next week is looking very low spend and should manage some NSD's too

Payday is feeling for ever away and once I've paid the balance of the car next week I'll be wincing looking at my accounts :o

    Have a good weekend all

Well after a very hectic week I didn't wake-up until 10.30 this morning so now still in PJ's and having a mooch on here when what I really should be doing is seeing how much the insurance is on my new car, can you believe I haven't checked that yet :o

The road tax is £30 so that is brilliant but on the insurance front I took the view that it was going to be less than my old car so wasn't in too much of a hurry to sort it out but it's still got to be done!

In other news... my house is a complete tip :eek::eek::eek: Some rooms are tidier than others but there is not a single room that is tidy never mind clean! This is really not like me so must get on the case though it will not be today. Today I'm going to have a lazy day, see family and have lunch out

Next week I'm going to tackle a room a night and if I'm lucky might get a couple of them done in one night as the guest room and dining room are the 'best of the bunch' so will get some satisfaction if I tackle them first and see some results!

The monthly gas and electricity bills are in, the gas was £33.88 so continuing to come down now the weather is improving. I don't have the electricity bill to hand but after payment the account is £26.89 in credit so I'll update the bill here later

Just noticed my on-line gas and electricity bills are in. The gas was £21.17 (thanks sunny weather!) and the electricity was £13.86 compared to £15.83 last month with this account now being £30.86 in credit.

I do like the way I have my gas and electricity organised whereby I have to provide meter readings each month and only pay what I owe based on these actuals. The electricity is a bit annoying as I got into credit last year and they sent me too much, e.g. didn't account for what was due out so in this instance they put my DD up to £18 a month hence the credit building up again but I won't do anything about that for a while.

Some of the bills I see on here that people have make me wince and I really feel for them as I know my bills are brilliant but that also a lot to do with me working away a lot

Grr! Woke up at 3.41 this morning and finally gave up trying to get back to sleep half an hour ago. Looks like the housework is going to get started sooner than planned

Think ill do some cleaning until 7 then start work. Just working from home today so will be seamless transfer from housework in Jim Jams to work in Jim Jams :rotfl:

    Morning Tilly :hello::hello:

Yes, very frustrating and I had the same a couple of nights ago too. I've got a few things on my mind and I've learned over the years that when that is the case it effects my sleep :o

Funny you should mention washing and ironing as I've now
    - stripped two beds
    - third load of washing in (fast running out of places to dry it)
    - one lot of bedding for my room all ironed and all put back
so the ironing pile and my bedroom looking a bit better
    - dishwasher emptied
    - random piles of paperwork about the place now lumped into
one pile! Not done you note, but a tidy pile!

Hoping to do a bit more during the day over t-cons etc ala Tilly ;)

    Have a good day
    Regards

That's an impressive done-list for that time of the morning! I've dragged myself into work... think that will pretty much my only achievement for the day :D.
