Well I'm still sitting here catching up on some diaries and while that is really enjoyable it's not what I should be doing....

I should be washed and dressed and out but I just have no oomph this morning. I ate something that disagreed with me last night, wished I could be sick or something and just get it over with

I ended up falling asleep on the settee for 2.5 hours last night, I've had another 8 good hours asleep in bed yet still feel like I could go straight back to sleep :o

I'm giving myself until 12.30 on here then I really must pull myself together and go out to see family who are visiting. I think Mr S will now have to wait until to-morrow...

    Regards

Well I made I out and now looking after one of the little ones who is fast asleep for his afternoon nap, aw, just lovely.

Still don't feel on top form so volunteering to stay behind suits everyone

I was out in the garden for a little while but a combination of it being too hot and me not being in the mood has driven me back inside which is a shame as weather like this is all too rare

I'm not a natural list maker but think I'll use a few minutes here and there over the weekend to compile a list of all the things that I need to do

    Regards

Hi Everyone, well after a couple of gloomy but warm/muggy days he sun is back :jso I hope you are all getting to enjoy it in some way and that work isn't interfering too much ;)

I made my usual £500 OP a few days ago with an extra £250 to 'normal' savings and an additional £250 to a monthly saver that I started at the beginning of the year with 'decent' interest rate for 12 months

I had expected a pretty tight month last month but all in all it wasn't as bad as I'd thought with some money to spare before payday which I sent across to my regular savings account

This month will be a bit of an unusual one too as got a couple of birthdays plus some unexpected expense re repairs e.g. this week spent £119 replacing a broken appliance and have another small household repair job in hand too, not sure what that will cost but I expect it to be less than £50 so not too bad

I've also got a few days on hol (hence the mid-day posting!) so will be spending a bit here and there but nothing to break the bank

Did a big shop at Mr S's at the weekend and then had a cookathon for the freezer, great to be cooking and eating good stuff again! I had a few vouchers and also found an old Mr S gift card lurking in my purse which had £2.52 on it so all in all the shop came in at £32.

I was also reminded that I had a £37.50 git card for a department store which I'd not used, that's from a returned Christmas gift and I just couldn't find anything to buy at the time. I decided to use it on some make-up that is due to run out soon so did that but still seem to have £6 left. It's one of those stores that looks beautiful but I never want to buy any of it :o

Loads of jobs to do today but at the moment I'm in the garden sitting in the sun so may get to them at some point....

    Hope you are all well

    Regards

Well the weather is very variable today as it's very hot but alternating between black clouds, rain then sun again.

I've got so many admin tasks I've been putting off but I've made a start and going to make a note of what I've done here in an attempt to make me feel like I've achieved something :o I just can't seem to get into the right mood and can't promise I won't get distracted here and there as the sun pops opt

So, things achieved so far today
    1. New Vantage account opened for family member (I was supposed to do this last one a month ago!)
    2. Two calls to a bank (re me then family member) to advise we both have accounts showing the wrong interest rate on-line. Advised we are getting the right rate but a system error means not showing on our on-line banking correctly. They've made notes on our accounts just in case
    3. Started helping a family member with an HMRC thing, they're getting really distressed by it but think we are making progress with the numbers now so next stage is to decide whether to call HMRC tonight or put it in writing. As some of you know I've had two years of h£ll with HMRC myself and wished I had done lots of the corresponding in writing so that I had proper evidence of their errors and mis-information
    4. Ordered a couple of holiday brochures to start and think about next year
    5. Transferred May and June's interest to savings from my N@tionwide Flex account, looks like I had forgotten to do it £8.31 &£8.04 so very pleased with that, just a real shame I missed the loophole that for a time allowed 4 of these accounts
    6. Transferred June's N@tionwide Flex interest for family member as they hate the card reader thingy, don't we all!
    7. Made a note of two bank accounts that need closing for me and one other that belongs to family member
    8. Received £35 I was owed from family member & transferred to savings
    9. Small repair in house now done, cost co-incidentally was also £35. Not something I could have done myself as involved electricals
    10. Call to council to arrange for small council tax credit to be repaid on BTL re tenant now in
    11. Different call to council to advise single person discount still applies, different number to above, grr

Just starting a new post to capture the various points/pounds available on various loyalty cards
    • Debenh@ms £5.50
    • B00ts - £12.95
    • Mr S / S@insburys - £60.05
    • Hairdresser vouchers £45.00
    • Amex Cashback £39.87
    • T0pc@shback £9.21 (just requested it be paid out)
I'm not using @mex at the moment as T£sco points seem to be better. It also only gets paid out on the anniversary of account opening and must be credited to the account

The hairdresser vouchers were gifts and always hand to have!
