Hey ATT
Happy New Year to you.
Those achievements are not shabby at all - good luck with 2013 goals.

I got weighed yesterday and I've put 5lbs on over Christmas. I was already 9lb over my 'happy weight' which had been creeping on all year so that makes a nice round one stone that I'd like to loose, so my first goal is
- lose the 'new' 5lb by 13th Feb (six weeks away)
- spend less than 10 nights per month in hotels
- this should be doable in new job and will be great improvement on previous 15-20 nights pm
- pay remaining £1300 of stooze credit card by June (when 0% ends)
- exceed £10k overpayment target

So I think i've fogotten to mention my savings recently. For at least the last 6 months I've comfortably been saving a minimum of £500pm. This means that my ISA money is all raring to go when I find one I like....
I've had a very odd day today, mucho money spent but done in a MSE fashion of course! I was desperately in need of new glasses (current ones 6 years old and falling to bits) and my last prescription sunglasses are nearly 10 year old with an out of date prescription.
Now I don't remember a time when I've paid less than £300 for glasses and I know the two prescriptions sunglasses I have cost £220 and £280 respectively
Anyway, armed with many Boots vouchers, along with some offers they also had on I've had an eye test today, bought new pair of glasses, new pair of prescription sunglasses all for the princely sum of £159 and of course got my Vantage points on that spend. Considering I was resigned to leaving the shop about £500 lighter I call that a result!
I've also bought a blue hand bag which I've been fancing for ages, normally I can never find one I like and today I literally stepped off the escaltor, saw a bag display in front of my and instantly saw a bag I really liked down from £40 to £20 which will do nicely for work and match a particular couple of dresses I have
Lulabelle, if you are looking in please forgive me for the handbag, I quite understand if you never want to 'speak' to me again for letting the side down with the standard of my new bagbut, I do really hope you really enjoy your bag as I know you love them, you work hard so why the heck not, particulalry as you they have been 'sef-funding' themselves recently
I've also been repaid £76 that i was owed from Christmas so that is all the money I was owed repaid now. I used £32 of that to get myself something I needed that Santa hadn't got for me and I've put the rest in my savings account
So, a very tiring day doing shopping - which I hate - but not a bad result.
PS, is now the right time to admit to paying £12.50 for lunch
Regards

Grr, I can't wait for this pay day to make my first OP of the year. We get paid early in December so the last OP seems like ages ago. Mind you, i did make a sneaky extra OP on 31/12 to get my IO balance down to a nice round £65k
Some good news on the money front, my mobile phone provider rang me to say that as I was coming to the end of my contract if I agreed to keep the same handset for an extra 9 months then they would reduce my monthly charge from £30 to £10.50, this seemed too good to be true but I checked it out and there were no catches so I agreed immediately. My mobile phone bill is the one monthly charge that does make me wince. Up until two years ago I'd never paid more than £12 a month but then I changed to a fancy new phone and up went the charges but I did like the benefits of the phone.
I had no intention of changing the handset anyway and had been wondering about ringing them and trying to haggle them down but I never expected to get it down to £10.50 and even better that they rang me with the offer :j

Christmas spending went well, particulalry as I'd racked up approx £250 of vouchers so I used them all up as well as selling £70 to family members for shops i wouldn't normally use.
I now only have £4.50 of Mr T vouchers and £2 WH Sm*th so i can sharp use those. Actually, that's not quite true, I've now accrued £38 for Debenh*ms and have about £15 on Boots Adva*tage card and about the same with Mr S so better than I thought.
I had a bit of a treat last week too, I do love books but it's a very expensive habit to have to buy new so I've long since moved to buying second hand books about 99% of the time; however, at Christmas I got a number of new books, but I already had three of them. I took them back to the shop and chose new ones but got a bit carried away and ended up having to pay an extra £28 on top of the refundsBut... it is lovely to have a big pile of spanking new books to read :j

Good result on the phone I would have taken that too I did a double take when I saw that you used to spend 15 to 20 nights a month in hotels that would drive me mad. I spend a max of 5 and I moan don't I.
Well done on the vouchers I think the new books are totally justified.

Hi TG, thanks for stopping by, sounds like you have had a great holiday :j
Yes, I'm still with the company but it's a brand new job including the set up. I've done 15-20 nights away per month for many years now, certainly not saying I like it but you can get used to most things... To be honest I've done almost that in new job too and lots of moving towns/cities during the week but that should be just while I'm getting everything set up and things should start to stabilise soon.
My new job is the main reason I've not been around much on herer, before last week I think it was over two months ago when I last postedas it's just been work, work, work for me for the last few months which I know is reaaaaaly bad...
