My friend wanted 3 kids and hoped for a girl as she had two boys and ended up with Twin girls.
OP....you never know what will happen. You may have a boy, a girl, one of each, 3 of them.....but when it comes down to it you will love each and every one of them just as much and will always find a way to manage0 -

As the title suggests I have 2 boys age 5yrs and 13mths absolutely wonderful and I adore them.
I suppose I am checking to see I am normal I would like to make our family a family of 5 as does DH but I would like to round off with a girl I love the boys but I would love to play barbies with my daughter.
So whats the issue well I have put off because I feel if I got pg and had another boy I may feel disappointed with him and I dont want to feel like that its not fair on him anyone else feel like that.
There are people who say you get what you get and you should be happy with your lot which is a good point but I think its human nature to want to have different sex children.
I always wanted three kids. I had 2 boys then on 3rd convinced boy couldn't tell the sex on scan. Had a girl. Husband didn't get around to having snip. Got caught out, convinced it would be another girl as un planed(perfect family). When time came for scan she told me it was a boy and I asked her to magnify his willie by about 200 to check. Moral of the story be careful what you wish for, cos you might get more than you bargained for:eek: :rotfl: You may just fall with twins.;)Grocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.

Poppy's right. Women have 2 X Chromosomes, men 1 X and 1 Y. If the father passed on the X, the baby is XX and female. If he passes on the Y the baby is XY and male.
(Geek persona going back under the stairs now! )
Ooh it's all coming back to me now:whistle:~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

I could never go through pregnancy and then be disappointed with giving birth to a live baby, no matter if it is a boy or a girl.
You get what you are given, I have 3 kids, one with suspected autistic spectrum disorder and other problems, the other 2 healthy. Miscarried number 3.5 last year. I thought THAT child would have been my last pregnancy. Number 4 is on the way and I could never imagine looking at a new baby (or a scan if they let you know the sex pre-term - we are not allowed here but wouldnt want to anyway) and thinking 'what a disappointment'.
I knew kids when i was growing up, who were in large families of all boys or all girls. Like about 5 kids. I know some now too. Think of the kids who are born like that - in the hope they were something else.
BTW my daughter - the oldest one, is a total tomboy and will not wear girls clothes. The only thing is she has long blonde hair and a very feminine faceI am glad she is not into flouncy dresses/bratz/boy bands...
Good luck whatever you end up with!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

hi poppyscorner,
I have 2 sons and the thought of having another boy when I was young was enough to put me off having any more. A decision I now regret. (16 yrs on)
I have a wonderful relationship with my god daughter (15) and my best friends daughter who is 3.
I love them dearly and do the girly stuff with them.
What I'm trying to say is if you want to have another baby, have one regardless of sex.
I hope you do and not sit there in years to come wondering what if...
Good luck

You want to have girl so you can play Barbies? No gender stereotyping at all there...why not buy her a little kitchen and ironing board as well, so she knows her place right from the start!
i don't think that's what the OP meant. i'm sure her boys play with dolls and kitchensmy 2 year old has just given up his pink pram and dollies to his female cousin (the only girl in a huge collection of boys, she's such a novelty lol!), he plays with his kitchen and shopping trolley every day and now he wants a dolls house. he's a rough and tumble boisterous boy and not in the least bit feminine - i think all children will choose all types of toys if left to their own devices. both sexes play with dolls and both sexes play with train sets.
OP i see what you mean - girly stuff. i shudder at the thought, but we're all different.
what about finding out at the 20 week scan? that way if it's a boy you can choose a name and imagine the baby boy, then you will 'get used to it' before he is born.'bad mothers club' member 13

poppyscorner wrote: »Can't remember who posted it but I have also read the theory about having a bit a day or so before you ovulate is more likely to result in a girl than a boy.
that was spendless, i've seen it mentioned here before now. i think it's called the shettles method, but i'll try to find some info.
there are other factors, but this seems to be true for me because i ovulate very early and have boys. i think i could have a dozen babies and they would all be boys.
i read an article about it a couple of years ago. the female diet thing is about whether the sperm has an acid or alkaline environment to swim through, or the thickness of mucus or something. sounds delightful :rotfl:'bad mothers club' member 13
