My only use to my 13 year old DD is to provide the funds and lunch! Everything I pick up is minging or worse still gets THE LOOK!!
I had a shoppinig trip today in Cardiff with DD and her friend. As DD and her friend didn't know the centre very well we stayed together. We went in all their fav. shops and my only request was Howells on the way back to the train as I wanted to get some new bedding. No one's feet were upto Howells so I came back empty handed but with my purse much lighter!~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

They are getting to the age though where they no longer want to come in town shopping (the not for food kind) - a girl would probably relish the idea.
Don't bet on it.After 3 boys, I got a girl who is a tomboy, who hasn't worn a dress or a skirt in about 5 years. She'll rarely brush her hair, and has armpit guff worse than any of her brothers.
At least she's not like some 12yo's, plastered in make-up and showing her midriff.

Hi,
I have two boys (4 and 14 months) and another due in 3 weeks:eek:
It was a complete stranger - a mum in the park - who, when I told her I was expecting another boy, said how lucky I was, that they'd be their own little team especially as they're going to be so close in age and that they'll always have each other to play with.
It really helped me get used to the idea that I won't have a daughter (3 kids is enough for me!) and made such a nice change not to hear negative comments like "Oh you must be so disappointed" or "What a shame".Worry is like a rocking chair - it keeps you busy but it gets you nowhere.

I really hate when people have that sort of attitude - I would have been annoyed at someone saying that as well.
A family nearby 'kept going' until they had a boy....7 daughters later they got their son, who is now a spoiled brat.
Another woman I know 'kept going' and had a girl after 5 boys (4 different fathers) Unfotunately she was on her own and couldn't cope with them all and started drinking. Her kids were all taken into care and her little girl is now living with her dad.
For those two reasons alone I had decided my third was to be my last, whether it was a boy or a girl.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Take a look at this chart - ok its only a bit of fun but is amazingly accurate and I've tried it out on all my friends. By the way, I had two boys and then a girl and the chart was spot on with all of them! Have fun !

I have 2 boys aged 6 and 4.
I knew with DS2 that he was going to be another boy, I found out at the scan just to be sure but I just knew deep down anyway cos my ex OH's side of the family was all boys. It was quite good at the time as I got a £500 maternity grant but didn't need to buy hardly anything as I still had all my stuff from DS1. I kept £300 in savings for about 2 years.
I would love to have a girl, I have a 4 year old step DD but it's not the same, I haven't brought her up from a baby, she is very much her birth mothers daughter and refuses point blank to wear certain things, eat certain things and do certain things (my boys do what they are told mainly, get a choice about certain things but don't dictate to me like Step DD tries to, lol) and although I wouldn't dress a newborn girl in all pink and frilly stuff, I still would like to buy girly stuff after having 2 boys who mainly wore little mini jeans and hoodies
But I really wouldn't mind having a boy as it will be a child from a new relationship so will be truly "ours" I am not sure if OH would actually prefer a son himself with my boys not being his as then he can carry on his family name.
I don't know, it's a difficult one. Apparently the more junk you eat the more likely you are to have a boy and as I eat a bit rubbish it probably didn't help. lol
Oh and that chinese gender thing was right for both the boys0 -
The chinese thing was possible right for only one of my boys.
I love my boys and would love to have two more but one more baby might just be the limit as the gap between DS1 and DS2 is more than we wanted it to be orginally.
I find boys so easy to bring up, but maybe thats just my two. Im not a girly girl and like sports and football so having wee boys to share that with is fantastic. Both boys have had football kits from tiny ages! lol
I do occasionally see myself looking at the girls things in shops and wondering what if but DH is worried sick of bring up daughters in this day and age so will see.Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110 -
I really really wasn't bothered about having a girl. My friends who had them I privately thought they were baitching little madams who could be quite spiteful;) Previously I had conceived 2 boys, we lost the first boy in pregnancy. I knew loads of people with 3 boys, I barely knew anyone who had had 2 boys then a girl. For this reason I was convinced youngest was a boy. I was amazed when she wasn't and thrilled to bits with her being a girl despite my previous reservations about girls which 5 years later she sometimes lives up to;)
How I think I got her was a few days before I ovulated we had done the 'deed':p and then we had unexpected house guests which we gave up our bed for, which stopped any baby making activities. By the time they had gone my fertile time was over but I was already pregnant. There is a *theory* that having sex shortly before the egg is produced means the faster male swimmers die off before the egg is realeased and the slower, longer living girl sperm get there instead.
One thing I wondered about is whether you want a girl cos if she hadn't died you would have one. I felt like that after we lost my first baby. He was a boy, so therefore I 'should' have a boy at some point.0
