DS just started working at Tesco and told me policy is :

To use a Tesco coupon for a Tesco product must buy product

Non Tesco product can use if the store stock the product but limited if you have more than one of the same coupon E G 2 coupons= buy one product , 3 coupons = 2 products

No limit on amount or value of non Tesco product coupons if Tesco stock the product if all are for different items

Save £X when you spend XXXX valid from other supermarkets

    Do not accept interent coupons

Do not accept competitor coupons for other products

This policy was trained to new staff within the last few weeks

That policy is exactly the wording that was issued to stores last June, it is 'the' legendary (but little-known in stores!) coupon policy - with one big exception. I have seen the original wording and it said:

    'we do accept internet coupons'

Can you double check that bit with your DS? If his store has changed the wording that is up to them, as I believe that acceptance of internet coupons is down to the Store Manager, but I am just wondering if it's a typo here, or he has read the 'do' as 'do not'?
Thanks, and good on your DS's store for issung it to cashiers! :T

will write to store for there veiws on internet coupons before i print off again ...had no problems in asda a couple of months back

There's a place on the Couponnet site to report a store if they haven't accepted an internet coupon (just don't mention to Couponnet that you were not buying the product!).

Couponnet will then contact the store and you stay anonymous of course.

can you help? i read on this site that you can use the 500 bonus ptsfor clothing, accesories (spit) on your groceries without buying the product, up until now i have been buying the product but returning if not wanted so retaining the points... i got 2 spits for extra points on yop and pampers nappies this week and was wondering if all bonus points can just be used on your weekly shop or would i have to buy the yop and nappies.. grateful for anyones help with this.

No, I think it's only a few till-spits that scan against any shopping. Usually they make the till beep if you don't buy. The clothing ones are a welcome exception.

You could always have a look at www.paidtoshop.co.uk, join in the chat on there, it's great! Then post your own swaps list or pm people who have something to swap listed, offer your till-spits as a swap.

N.B. no swapping is allowed on MSE of course.

bee nto my local tesco today and they wouldnt accept internet coupons with out me buying the products. Although when I went though the self service a bit later as I forgot some thing I scaned the DM book coupon and it went though and the the sales assistant came to check the coupon and said they had to check all coupons going though now.

    But accepted the coupon, anyway

Coupon-Mad is, of course, right (as always :D) but just wanted to add that some bonus point coupons/till spits sometimes have glitches on them, and may scan against a similar product (e.g. any nappy, not just Pampers) or another product in the range, or just another product (a coupon for points on Finest frozen foods scanned on any frozen food, for example), so you don't always have to buy the exact product. ;)

The glitches are usually posted here or on PTS. :)

Yep, you too are right as always, Dormouse! :T

The Finish dishwash tablets till-spits always scan against Finish dishwasher salt, and generally it is worth testing any till-spit for a brand-name you don't want to buy, with the purchase of a cheaper Tesco equivalent that you do want. That will often work.

If they change their [policy I'll defo go elsewhere. Their prices have rocketed. Their own brand yoghurts 6 pack have gone from 68p to 98p ion 6 months, their jars of pasta sauce have gone up from 52 to 73p in the last month and their brown rice has gone from 75p to £1.09! brown pasta has gone from 49p to 70p. Their 3 for £3 cheeses are now £1.50 each and no longer multiby. Everything has rocketed. I mean you expect a penny or two here and there but most things have gone up by 20 to 30% which is ridiculous

How about this one, grated mature cheddar 400g from £2.29 to £2.98 in one hit, outrageous profiteering.
  • Eh?? i dont understand...
    Pigsback- 250pp (11.50 claimed) Ipoints- 200
    Toluna- 16 615 (Need 60000 for Sainsbury's voucher) Lightspeed- 110 points (aiming for a W H miths or BHS 10.00 voucher)
