I think it's the same old story...

It depends on the store, check out person or the way the wind is blowing that day! :rotfl:

I didnt know this was only my local tesco, the duty manager said it was a tesco policy, not just a dunstable store policy. I doubt this would be limited to just one store though.

wendy+5 yes that is exactely it wendy so depends which store of tesco and their individual policy it seams.

surely tesco would have a blanket policy across all there stores?

I think you'll find the clampdown is specific to certain stores and not nationwide.

I have 5 Tescos in my area and only one doesn't allow coupons except for the usual 10%.

The others range from 100% of your shop as long as you have enough coupons to only 50% of your shop no matter how many coupons you buy.
I visit them all reguarly and keep on at the nonconforming shop in the hope they will eventually follow the national policy.

I too think your title is misleading...

A few months ago my local stopped accepting my coupons except 1. I have bided my time and over the past few weeks have been able to use many coupons again. It's like its been said before, it depends on the sa, the manager and the wind.

Used about £10 off a £45 shop yesterdal, all "real" mocs not internet. They were accepted fine, with loads of baby mailing points coupons. It is very much store and SA dependant, so worth keep trying. Would reiterate that in the long term, we'll all benefit by using coupons they can make their money back on, so keep your eyes peeled for actual coupons, rather than relying mainly on the DM or internet ones

Definitely store specific or maybe even just a jealous sa who believes that the money is coming out of their own pockets. I used £20 off a £24 pound shop yesterday and the same the day before in 2 different stores - no problems.
These rumours have circulated at least once every couple of months since I started using coupons about 3 years ago. I don't believe that this time it will be any different. ;)
  • I agree with Leothecat,

As there are different managers per store, different policies will apply. I think also that the title of the thread is a bit misleading. For me, i think ASDA are better than TESCO coupon-wise because there are not so many restrictions.
