Over the past two weeks I have used just under £60.00 worth of coupons in Tesco. Some of these were Internet coupons, some DM book coupons and the rest manufacturers coupons. I have used them in three different stores in my town and have had no problem at all. Tesco get the money back, they were all in date and I never bought any of the items

yesterday said they had stopped accepting coupons in my local unless you bought the product. Called supervisor who accepted one of each, but only one huggies from parent and baby mag even though they were different. Then when I said I would be defecting to the other local Tescos, teenager tried to tell me that they had stopped accepting them as well. Since he could not possibly have known this; and they had accepted coupons the day before; perhaps there is a directive out there which store managers will ignore or implement as they like. As we know, all stores policies are different regardless of head office directives. Asda are all different too AFAIK.

Tesco don't get the money back for the daily mail book token I'm afraid. I won't use it, as not being able to redeem coupons will do exactly what's being discussed here... cause the policy to be revoked. I'd rather save a fair bit every week for a long time than make a few fast £4s now and then it all go pear shaped

    Interesting....

I have a good relationship with my store regarding MOCs. I have met with, and corresponded with, the Customer Services manager to confirm the policy (1 per product, as long as they stock it etc).

The only thing I still was not sure about was the DM coupon. So I wrote to the CS manager again, enclosing a DM coupon, and asking if they accepted it.

I had a letter back on Saturday, advising YES THEY DO! So there you go.

    Food for thought!

That is really strange!! Lots of people on here will tell you they have asked tesco and they said no, because they cannot get any money back from it. I am wondering if your store has a lot of local competition so they accept it as a loss leader?? (Wish mine would! lol)My tesco won't accept any coupons for magazines or papers even which is a bit silly, because tesco HO say they do, but they DO get the money back for the.
I really amazed! Where d'you live, we'll all come for a holiday! :rotfl:

Hi although they sell books, I think the coupon sttes it can only be redeemed in certain places and often tesco don't stock that particular book.

very good of you to take a positive long term attitude though.
(That's not a dig at jojo btw as she has clarified it with her CSM)

  • I got some for 3 quid off a thirty pound spend at sainsburys will they take those too? forgot to try today but found two till coupons for 500 points each which someone threw away. THat is forty quid worth of deals and They are for shampoo and I need some so worth using. My god don't people realise they are throwing away money!! Saving for my tesco holiday of a lifetime so all points greatfully grabbed Have not had holiday for four years so when we go I am gonna luv it . The kids are ashamed of me as I check all receipts lying around. Is that going too far? The man in front of me said he did not need points and let me put his on my card he asked me so that was extra 100 pts.
:j I sometimes give myself admirable advice, but am incapable of taking it.
