That is really strange!! Lots of people on here will tell you they have asked tesco and they said no, because they cannot get any money back from it. I am wondering if your store has a lot of local competition so they accept it as a loss leader?? (Wish mine would! lol)My tesco won't accept any coupons for magazines or papers even which is a bit silly, because tesco HO say they do, but they DO get the money back for the.
I really amazed! Where d'you live, we'll all come for a holiday! :rotfl:

The other interesting thing was, the CSM took about 2 weeks to reply, and said this was because she had had to clarify it herself further up the line. From that, I took it she had clarified it with HO? The store doesnt have a huge amount of competition, it is a v large extra, always sells the book in question every month!

  • I got some for 3 quid off a thirty pound spend at sainsburys will they take those too? forgot to try today but found two till coupons for 500 points each which someone threw away. THat is forty quid worth of deals and They are for shampoo and I need some so worth using. My god don't people realise they are throwing away money!! Saving for my tesco holiday of a lifetime so all points greatfully grabbed Have not had holiday for four years so when we go I am gonna luv it . The kids are ashamed of me as I check all receipts lying around. Is that going too far? The man in front of me said he did not need points and let me put his on my card he asked me so that was extra 100 pts.

Nice one on the till spits!! Cant believe people throw them away!!!

Be careful with wombling receipts though, if its ones paid in cash then ok, but dont touch ones paid with debit/credit cards, in case the cards are stolen!

And yes most stores will take the sainsburys £3 off £30 etc.

Still going through on self scan with my coupons (my local store will only accept 1 coupon per transaction now as per one coupon per product!)

Managed to get about £7 off the last couple of shops i've done (not biggies, about £40 worth).

Tis a bit 'tit for tat' though as I do have to weigh up either going through SS to use MOC or through normal till so I can get the spits ! Been going twice a week lately to make sure I can do both ! lol

  • I used to buy the big 3kg bags of pasta, was £1 a bag for ages - now £3! That's a big increase don't you think?

yes we've been discussing that! Everything has gone up. The big bags of pasta have been £3 for quite a while now though. I buy the wholewheat pasta and that was 40 oddpence a bag (500g) and is now 70p. Tons of stuff has really gone up.
RBAOName, tesco should take the sainsburys total spend coupons, particularly if there is one nearby as competition
btw I womble lots of receip0ts including ones with card details on. Not many would be stolen these days as they have to be used with a PIN, rather than a signature, and guessing someones 4 digit PIN is a world away from forging a signature. I've put tons on. Just make sure you dont give 2 in with card details on at the same time or they may check and notice they're different!

very interesting about the DM book token!

I would write an email (which is what I did)to Tesco and ask them to confirm there policy - I now take the copy of the email with me & use it where necessary and they have never refused a coupon since!

Basically as long as the store stock the item, you can use 1 coupon (non purchased item)per transaction, if you purchase the item you can use 2 coupons (1 for the purchased item & 1 non purchased item).

Ihope that clarifies things for you - we used to have intermitant problems and I was fed up with the inconsistent messages I was getting from different people at Customer Services so the email is definatley the way forward.

did u email head office or the local store, as wont the local store just say its at the managers discretion, as that seems to be how it is?? i could not find an email address for my local store, but i would like some sort of clarification as fed up of it being hit and miss whether they take them or not.

My e mail re coupon acceptance is from head office. It does say they accept coupons if store sells them/ in date/one of each, but that internet printed are at the discretion of store manager. However I have still been refused sometimes when out, because they say "That e mail is 2 months old, we've changed policy" or, that doesn't apply to us, so doesn't always work
