Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning. Feel a bit pooped today, don't know why....
Busy work day ahead, then I have to pick up 25 chickens which I did'nt do yesterday and my son wants his first driving lesson.
We took him out to a pub for his birthday, they do great meals and we all got completely full. The bill for 7 was £62 incl drinks. It's painful forking out money, but I tried to bite my lip over cost, so not to spoil anyones birthday.
Foggy this morning, but the forcast is dry...
Have nice day

Morning all
Raining here today, but at least I had a good nights sleep with no interruptions from Katy & no manic rushing about from her this morning.
Mrs Mix, I'll have a party & invite everyone on here, you can all join me in celebrating when Katy finally leaves. I have a backup plan if the school does extend her contract, I'll tell her my son is moving back in, lol.
Off to work, just two more days till we break up & then I just work part time for 2 weeks. I have a few outings lined up too, lunch with a friend etc.
Hugs to Smokey, don't you dare apologise for a long post, we're all just so happy you make to post, PP I hope you are ok, I haven't seen many posts from you lately, or maybe it's old age & I've missed them, Mrs Mix, JackieO, Choc orange, Annistar & anyone I've missed.
Hugs Hester

Good morning n9eav, redruby, jet 77, Hardup Hester and all who follow.
It's DD's last day at school before the holidays. DH is off with her tomorrow and all next week. FIL is having her for 3 days and right at the end I have 2 days off :T As it's the last day of school it's non uniform day - so I'll have to straighten her hair this morning
Tea tonight is chicken enchiladas.
Smoky - thanks for posting last night (((((hugs))))) to you honey

Hello everybody,
DGS is watching Lazytown with DH  so I thought I"d jump on here. He's been really good today again and I'll take him home after his tea. We went for a long walk with Benny out to the spit later this morning and he paddled around. Water was a bit cold for me. I just waded in to my ankles.I'm in the midst of writing out a list as we're going into town tomorrow. We have a few business bits and pieces to do. Will grab a few groceries etc I need while I'm in there. YS called today and it was lovely to chat for a while.
Smoky Just read your post last night & as everyone says you are a real champion. You could also try and start up a journal. I find it helps to write things down. It's also good to read back.
Mrsmix
5th day of holiday from Tired Mum and I can't believe how much weight Mr TM has whacked on.
Also Candygirl is loving her time in Spain and enjoying the local attractions.
Will pop back later. Hope you all have a great day. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all already here & those to follow
((((((hugs)))))) smokey - tackling the bureaucracy is so hard to do in some ways, but in others it is something that forces you to keep going; do you have someone who can help you though?
Dogrose - hope the essay is going ok; I struggled with my last one & got the marks back a couple of days ago -- 82%!!! Sometimes the ones that are the most horrendous to write are the ones that you surprise yourself withI don't start with the introduction, I just plunge straight in, and then deal with the intro later on... I was always told "tell them what you're going to write about, then write about it, then finish by telling them what you've written about". Works for me, lol!!
Aussie, those pics are so funny - between you & Haribo I'm [STRIKE]often[/STRIKE] occasionally sitting here grinning at my computer & my kids think I'm mad....
Not sure what OS stuff going on today, definitely need to do some tidying up, maybe sort out a few junk drawers. But so nice to have a few days off while kids at school I don't do much at all!
Have a good day everyone & more hugs to those who would like them.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning all - I've been up a while but didn't dare try and start the thread after yesterday's fiasco!
SMOKY - thank you so much for posting last night; we were all wondering how things were. You are absolutely amazing the way you are tackling everything. I really admire you and I'm sure I wouldn't be as strong. Please give your LOs great big ((((((hugs))))))). I know they'll be fine with a Mum like you. Well done on making your way through all the red tape and I hope the immediate practical worries are sorted out very soon. Much love to you all.
REDRUBY - I also have a major spring clean before I go away - it's so nice to come back to; well, until you start unpacking and sorting out the washing. I hope you have a brilliant time. I'm sorry, I must have missed a post when you said where you were going so, where are you going? Somewhere warm and sunny, I hope!
HESTER - I'm so glad you already have Plan B should Katy think she can still live with you! I can't wait for July on your behalf! What a reason to celebrate.
AUSSIE - love the pics!
N9EAV - what an expensive time you've had of it with all those birthdays! Good on you for grinning and bearing the expense!
Well, the weather seems reasonable although it's too early in the morning to be sure. I have towels in the WM so hope to peg them out later. Dinner is chicken pieces with roast vegetables and gravy, a really simple chuck-it-in-the-oven-in-one-dish job. My favourite kind of cooking. Pudding will probably just be a piece of fruit.
I have lots of fiddly jobs to do today which I hope to get done this morning, as well as baking (going to try those lemonade scones!) and I want to visit the gym as well.
Well, I hope everyone who is poorly, in pain or anxious has a good day today.
Will catch up with you all later.

Morning everyone
OH is back today finally - he landed a 1/2 hr ago. I'm off home to meet him as he doesn't have key  then I have to go to the doctors(I hate going to see the doctor). I've got a bit of work to do before I go, but I'll be off in a minute (I only really popped in to work because I woke up at 3 am worrying about something I'd left running... it was fine...)
Pen-Pen - have a great time at the theatre (last time I saw Romeo and Juilet I had a group of "challenging" sixteen year old performing arts students with me, who didn't really understand it - we had to spend the rest of the lesson explaining the plot in text speak)
Redruby - I tidy before going away too - becuase it's soooo nice to come back to fresh linen and a clean house! Hope you have a great time.
Smokey - thank you for posting and hugs to you
Hester - love the back-up plan, you'll have to throw a party too.
Squiggly - well done with the assignment! I often find that too with the more difficult ones - I guesss it is because you work and work at them.
Hugs to anyone that needs a hug
I made weetabix brownies last night and they taste fine (although I think I cooked them a bit too long as they are a more like cake), have a great day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Morning all, off to work in a mo but just wanted to come on here for a few secs and wish everyone a good day, and, Smoky, like others have said, you are not going on, if you need to talk, you know we are always here to listen. We are all supporting you and thinking of you (((hugs))) to you and your little ones
Right, just enough time to hang the washing out before I go, the weather is looking brighter out there already - byeeeeeeeeee0
