    Have any of you tried Gold Panning? There are various spots to do it in the Uk (though there are problems in Wales at the moment.) Lots of places in Scotland and also many places across in France and the EU

    I have also found that a 'vest' is a waistcoat, that a 'faucet' is a tap, that a 'condo' is an apartment you own (a rented one is an apartment) and that 'downtown' is the city centre. Who said we spoke the same language?

    Great isn't it. DIL and I had great fun, as she had no idea what a 'jug' was!

    Had a good time in France with DH for 2 weeks . Spent mainly on food and petrol. Got a local "cultural passport" which gave us reduced rate entry to various castles, museums and abbeys etc, with two free, so saved a total of 42 euros on those visits. Very MSE!
    Home for 3 days and did my CAB 2 days, then had 4 days with DD and her children in Norfolk. Granny duties next week with them, then life returns to "normal".

    My house in the UK is always a tip, with five adults in it when we are there, and three of them happy to live in a tip. :(

    So I have hired a cleaner! She has been three times now, for two hours each time and I know the house has been cleaned properly at least once a week. She does our bed/sitting room and the dining room, kitchen, bathroom, stairs and landing. Also 'the kids' clean up the worst of their excesses when she is due as they realise she won't be able to clean otherwise.

    Best of all, I class this as SKI-ing, as it benefits and enhances my life, but I don't even have tto spend my money. :) I told 'the kids' that they made the mess, they could pay. :)

    Working well so far!:rotfl::rotfl:

    Sounds like a good plan 7DW.. I spent 5 days near Tenby Sth Wales with my sister , stayed in a beautiful quiet B & B near our 3rd sister so we could all spend some time together, we haven't done that for many years ... it was a great success we got to know 2 of her boys and newest grandson better and got caught up with all of our families.. might try and make it a regular thing each year as long as I'm fit and able to drive . I was a bit dubious about the long drive with my arthritis but found I had no problems at all which was nice..

    Hi, y'all! In sunny Florida, but it is raining steadily, unlike their usual heavy, short-lived showers. Just taken a desperate dog for a 'walk' in the rain. At least it's not cold.

    Enjoy it Polly. We're enjoying a lot of rather large barbecues over here ! At least, some people appear to be enjoying them, others burned out of their homes not so much.
    .................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
