I think it would be a pain from London though.
It's no 'small detour' SDW! Tenby is right in the South West corner of Wales. It'll be a trek as far as the M4!

No, I meant it would be a small detour if you were travelling to and from the West Midlands!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Thanks for the thought and if OH were with me we might of just done that because I know he'd like to visit Ironbridge too... we will get there sometime soon...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Nationwide is now no good for abroad.
Credit Cards - Santander Zero or Halifax Clarity
Debit Cards - Santander Zero
There are a couple of others, MSE will give you those. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Oh bother, must have missed that, although I thought Nationwide Credit was still OK for European purchases, but with a surcharge for non-Euro purchases.Nationwide is now no good for abroad.

We have the Halifax, but DS2 has of course left it FAR too late to get anything else, so I suspect his best bet is to get Euros in cash here, and consult his friends as to who's got the least worst method of withdrawing abroad ...
I still have my Nationwide account, which I only opened for the deal on cash withdrawals. Wouldn't touch Santander with the proverbial barge pole ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
We are off to France this week - first bit of skiing this year as DH is still working (too hard).0

Been SKI-ing in Norwich with long-lost Norfolk cousins and American cousin who none of us had ever met.
Had a great time, huge family reunion on Tuesday with fourteen of us out for a meal. The rest of the time we were out with two particular cousins who showed us the sights of Norwich and rural Norfolk. We had a great time. My husband got on really well with A, my cousin J's husband, in fact we all got on well, never stopped laughing and American cousin C is so bright-eyed and bushy tailed and wanted to see absolutely everything.
We're now in Wolverhampton and showing C a different face of England - a large industrial area and Shropshire countryside. She is great, we love her company.
It is all costing a fortune (mainly because of eating out every day), but hey, it's a once-in-a-lifetime event!
A, J, myself and my husband are going to save our pennies so that we can SKI (literally perhaps
) in Colorado at C's place.
Myself and my husband will definitely be returning to Norwich to visit A and J.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Well, C has gone back to the States, we have had a smashing time, she is bright, bubbly and great fun. I really hope we can meet again some time.
I have also found that a 'vest' is a waistcoat, that a 'faucet' is a tap, that a 'condo' is an apartment you own (a rented one is an apartment) and that 'downtown' is the city centre. Who said we spoke the same language?(AKA HRH_MUngo)
