I don't think you can argue which is the best between a PC and console, both have their good and bad points, however you can't base an opinion on the pad alone. These days there's loads of convertors which let you use nearly all gamepads on a PC. I myself use a PS2 pad on my PC when playing Pro Evolution.
Maybe you're the same as me, we see things they'll never see...
  • Using Currys with the £25 off code and free delivery you got the Full Xbox 360 pack (including hard drive etc.) Gotham Racing 3 plus possibly an an additional wireless remote for £329 delivered. I will check this.

That save's about £20. Not much, but as everywhere else is charging full whack its £20 better than everywhere else.
  • I ordered from Currys, but didn't receive a confirmation email. I phoned them and was told that i wouldn't receive the email, or be charged until they receive the stock. £329.99 all in.
    Waddle you do eh?

Are you able to cancel the order before release (just in case someone offers a better deal?)
  • I phoned the Currys order line today. Spoke to Kathy. She said you get everything you see on the website I asked her twice if this meant two wireless controllers and she said yes on both occasions (I pointed out that you get one with the pack.) :)

I also got my e-mail confirming the order

  • I received my confirmation tonight. In fact I received two confirmations - I wonder if that means I have two orders in? Anyway pleased to receive confirmation!

That depends entirely on the genre of game, I must say for FPS there ain't no beating a mouse and keyboard just because of the speed and accuracy in comparison to a pad, which tend to be slow and a bit hit and miss. Also Football management, Games like Total War, etc, are all best on the PC.

But to say that the likes of Zelda Ocarina of Time (i'd give it 99% because to be honest it is the perfect game, many critics have given it 100%), would be beaten by any PC game is well quite frankly not a reality. I suppose Half-Life 2 is fairly close although a different type of game, I'd give it somewhere around the 97% mark, but as far as I am concerned Zelda Ocarina of Time is without exception the greatest title ever, although it might be surpassed by the Zelda the twillight princess it they ever get it released looking at some of the previews, screen shots and views of the demo, a £50 game if any of them are.

I know exactly where the pc stands but whatever you do is up to you. The Xbox 360 and ps3 will just be a fart in the wind for me but I would't mind a go anyhow! Just like apple claim their nano is ''amazing'' it really is not. Flash players with the same capacity already exist much before the nano and are smaller still but apple being apple with take the credit anyway. Just goes to prove a point. I know where I'd put my money. SLI already beat the xbox 360 and ps3 many months ago and even before they are launched...lol...if you want pick up and play then by all means go and get one it's still a good choice

You are basing your whole arguement solely on the technolgy aspects of PC vs games console. That is not what I am saying, it is obvious that a PC will be technically more advanced than a console, don't forget that a up-to-date PC is going to be £1000+, while a new 360 is about the £200 mark, and will drop fast, to around the £150 mark.

The real issue for gamers should be the quality of the games, and in alot of instances, consoles games are better than PC games, of course there are some PC games that are top draw also. I mean I have just completed Zelda Link to the Past, 2d graphics pretty rubbish in comparison to today's standards (in fact on starting to play for the first 1 hour or so I was thinking jesus I can't hack these graphics but after that you are brought in by the gameplay, etc) then you really do appreciate that the overall gameplay is truly magnificent, better than just about anything currently on the market.

Personally I don't give a monkeys grandma about 'Nano' wotsits, if the games are rubbish it won't matter. But if perfect dark zero gets anywhere close to the original N64 version I will be forced to invest some cash in it. Incidentally I do have a games PC, capable of running all the latest release games, doom 3, half-life 2, etc, and I do have loads of PC games as well.
  • agree totally with kenny and would add that i will have my x box360 connected to my 40 inch tv and home cinema system. Whilst it is possible to link your pc to these it looks a complete mess to have all the wires lying around.

Ive been searching for decent money off the 360 but have come up with nothing better than whats been mentioned here already. Hopefully something will appear!
