Quidco gives 4% off play.com, that's where I've got my preorder in. You'll get £11.20 back (-£5 if you're new to Quidco).

No, its not 'like' they will. It is that they will...Have you not seen the videos? OMG. DOA3 wow. And thats not the best.
I agree they WILL have superior graphics. I don't agree that automatically means they will have superior playability. Good graphics and good playability certainly don't go hand-in-hand. Good graphics can enhance the atmosphere of a game, but not the playability in my opinion.

As an example - I would not say I found Metal Gear Solid 2 had particularly better playability then Metal Gear Solid 1 on the previous gen console, despite radically better graphics. I enjoyed them both a similar amount.

I've already read one editorial saying people are already expecting more from the next-gen consoles than they will be able to deliver. Having said that I do know come launch day I'll be green with envy at those that have them!! :o

You will always be able to flog it on Ebay and get a new one. It's unlikely you will need HD DVD for any games as 9 GB per disk is a LOT of space, and publishers are not going to want to restrict themselves to newer consoles only.

Cheapest so far is £7 off by going via Greasy Palm and getting 2.5% cashback from Game. Anyone beat that?

Is the cashback from games reward card not doubled to 5% if you pre-order?

I was taking about cashback via greasypalm. Game points can only be used for instore purchases so are not as good as cash.

Agread, but Over £20 to use instore against future purchases is not to be sniffed at. It WILL be used against another game. I would have bought that anyway.
  • There will be a lot of website offering XBOX 360 on pre-order in the next few weeks. I'd personally wait until closer to the release date and then order from Kays to get your 20% off first order discount, a long term offer which is unlikely to be removed.

I've got one on pre-order from Game.net - Not 100% sure if I need it, but you can guarantee that there will be a Christmas shortage and the ebay value will be much more than the £279.99 launch price.

    That's an excellent spot.

I've never used kays.com before so I assume I'd be fine to get the 20% discount. I've just had a quick look & I couldn't see anything t&c's against using the discount for specific purchases.

That would mean £223.20 for the "full" bundle… seems too good to be true as everyone else is charging full whack. Do you recon they'll pick up on this?

… and more importantly I guess… do you recon they'll be selling the xbox 360? They seem to be selling other consoles so looks promising…

Actually having had a look at some of the prices on the site… it looks like everything is pretty expensive. So maybe they'll just charge a higher in the first place to cancel out the 20%. Oh well…
