    Hello all,

I have been in the meeting of my DD's preschool and I was chosen as new treasurer. When ever I will learn to keep my mouth shut. So my very kind neighbour was babysitting and I bought her a bottle of wine, some crackers and some cream cheese as a thank you. She was grateful for the wine but left the crackers and the cheese and now I am scoffing them off. I don't know if my putting chocolate and biscuit money towards the interest beater will work as I seem to find ways around it with savoury snacks. I really need to find a way to earn that money but can't find methods that I don't do already either for living (accounting, selling books, providing animal care service) or for my Olympic challenge (cash back, comps, surveys, bingo, casino, ebay and amazon of my own stuff) so I am running out of ideas. I will need to think a service or product that I could sell. What about pillow covers with row of paw prints stitched/printed on them? I have done the City and Guild soft furnishing course but I don't think there is much market for that. (Hmm, I do have some sheeting material, embroydery thread and fabric paint here somewhere....)

I have raked my head of how on earth I will be able to stay in budget and then it came to me!! I will cheat! So as I don't have a clothing fund or luxury fund I am going create an animal fund by using all the earnings that I get from my Olympic challenge and put it towards all the animal stuff. Only amounts not covered with this income will in future go into this challenge. So tomorrow I will amend my spreadsheet and my signature. This way I can use my recent winnings from Casino and Bingo to buy new cage for my girls (piggies) (boys already live in the luxury flat) and finally return their cage to the rescue AND buy a new cage and rescue couple of rats to live in it. Hoorraah!

Nyk I haven't forgotten your question about the other income. I shall research tomorrow and let you know.

Need to finish off these lovely crackers and then go to bed. Sleep well everybody. (Should've bought two bottles of wine)

Ugh, had a really bad day today. Lots of emotional stuff with family etc. Not feeling very motivated right now. I think someone has put a voodoo curse on my last year at uni  I figure that a few mini rolls and an early night are in order :p Although now I'm tempted to check out the drama on DT...

I've managed another NSD today, not sure about direct debits though as my internet banking seems a bit dead.

Re - other income and tax - I read on mse somewhere recently that if the stuff you were selling on e-bay etc was your own possessions as opposed to something bought to sell on as a business that any money made was not taxable.
Also that cashback from sites like quidco is actually a discount on products/services and also not taxable.
Mystery shopping is taxable income, as is AQA , and the survey sites were also seen as taxable income in some cases.

Not sure about any other stuff.

  • Another question regarding my soup found this

Also soup is really good for freezing, but don't add stilton or cream/milk. Add when defrosted

on oldstyle forum, thing is I got the cheese on whoopsi and wanted to make this soup to freeze complete, question is, can I freeze it with the cheese added before hand?

    Hya Penny

stilton and broccoli soup never lasts long enough to make its way to the freezer, I really really really really love the stuff. (i have even eaten it cold.....but its ok, cos the folk on COME DINE WITH ME said Gordon Ramsay calls it amuse bouche!!!)

    Whats whoopsi???

Maybe you can freeze the cheese too , never froze Stilton but have froze Cheddar before

I have heard the same. It's probably a good idea to keep good records of ebaying tho in case you ever have to convince the taxman that your sales really were private. I can see the conversation:

Taxman "Well Ms Catshark you seem to have sold a huge range of stuff and your house is now empty. Are you sure that you are not actually a dealer trying to pass off your shop as your house?"

    Ms Catshark "Er.... yes.":rotfl:

Did anyone watch tonight's Apprentice? Can't believe the redhead didn't get fired! Raif is beginning to grow on me too. He is high in amusement value but does have rather odd hair.....:D
