disappointed.
i got as far as the final reserve button for a £1 room once and £29 room three times only to find they had gone.
if anyone has a room for the 17th May they dont need, I would gladly pay.
otherwise congrats to those who were successful, and better luck to the rest of us next time0 -
Just tried booking hotel room for £1. I sat at the site watching the ticking clock for 15 mins. As soon as the booking for the rooms started I entered the site and tried to book whatever date was available. I only saw 2 dates between April and July. When I tried to book, I was told data not able to load and was subsequently logged out. I tried again, this time there were no dates available and this was 4 mins after 12. At 20 mins past 12 after having many unsuccessful attempts a message came up saying all rooms for £1 and £29 have gone after 19 mins. Well after 4 mins, I didnt see any rooms available at all. I do not believe there were 1,000 rooms gone in 19mins I think there were probably only a couple available in the first place. Disappointed!0

I only remembered to fill in the comments box on one of my bookings. We'll see anyway...if necessary i'll get them to put an additional bed in - my mate and I aren't really the sharing-a-bed types:eek:0 -
I'm not sure if two £29 rooms (different dates) is allowed.
It's not really in their terms and conditions....
Also, I don't understand how people here and "sell on" their unwanted £1 or £29 room, don't Hoxton check for ID or credit card?
Thanks0 -

You had to refresh the page once it hit 12pm (Although it still showed the greyed out buttons for a few minutes after)
I managed to book mine by going to the 'Book normal Daily rates' button at the bottom and selecting a date, scrolling past the daily rates and underneath were the options for either a £1.00 or £29 room!0 -

Also, when I booked two consecutive nights separately on a previous occasion, my room card wouldn't work on the second night, as it was only programmed to work one night - so I had to get it reset at reception.
I was lucky and managed to get 9 June for £1; tried for a £29 room the previous night but they'd all gone. We just had a guy from IT in saying how slow our network is so I think I was very lucky!!0 -

Or are you waiting to hear about tickets for those as well (what ever did we do before the internet??
Anyone in London 14 June? The Trooping the Colour is on that day so go and see it if you can. You can stand in the Mall and watch the procession. It's wonderful. The Queen will be there.
On 7th June it's the final rehearsal for Trooping and the Colonel in chief takes the salute. Depends which Guards regiment is parading the colour as to who takes the salute that day. Sometimes it's Prince Philip.
A great day out to see the Horse Guards and bands etc.0 -
The main problem with the Hoxton site wasn't the amount of people trying to get on, it was the fact that the site is Flash driven - so if you don't have the most up-to-date version (9.0 I think), it took forever for the HTML option to come up.
*Update your Flash software just before the next offer so you have a better chance next time*
Thankfully, I managed to keep refreshing everytime it said Server Unavailable and just wouldn't give up and I have a room for £1. OK, not THE night I wanted but it's such a good offer that ANY night I can be there is fine by me.
Thanks for this and so many other tips Martin, and better luck next time to those who were frustrated by the site.
