I'm not bitter (like my Murphy's?!) I'm pleased to everyone who got the rooms!
The point is, if you are going to have this sort of offer, and a massive increase in web traffic, you need to put procedures, bandwidth and traffic management in place to ensure it's smooth, otherwise your site falls over, people think it's a scam etc.
It's pretty amateur how it's run - for a professional hotel, it generates a bad image.0 -
I had a travelodge room I was going to give away once on this site but got spooked by some posts that said that if you don't know the person and you can't officially transfer it, then you would be responsible if they trashed the room. However, at the hox they ask for a credit card when you arrive, so it might be ok.0

Bah - very nearly managed to get a £1 room on the night I wanted, but then fell foul of the searching for Pounds Sterling problem, and by the time I'd submitted it had gone.
I did manage to get a room for the right date, but wrong month, thanks in part to that wonderful system of showing you two months at a time so it's not instantly obvious which dates you're booking, and in my haste not to miss out I didn't check... oh well, I might just go see Derren Brown that night...
Well done to anyone that got the nights they wanted - was it me or did the sale start a random interval after 12, rather than at 12?0 -

Yes. Booked the hen weekend under different names (6 people going and 2 to each room) and the show weekend under mine. I paid with the company credit card, so maybe thats why it went through. I have received my email confirmation already.:rotfl:"Penny Pinching Winch"

So are all dates for the rest of the year booked up then or just set dates?
I couldnt click on any date it wouldnt let me,right up until December.
How can people book several rooms? I thought you were only allowed one per booking, thats a little unfair and greedy.0 -
After reading the reviews on the hotel I thought that I would try to get a room. So at 11.59 I started to refresh page constantly until the booking form opened at midday. I failed to get a room at £1 and £29. So I thought that I would try a standard rate room. Not available for the date I required...infact not available for any date between now and at least September (after that I gave up looking). How many rooms does this hotel have just the 1?
:T :T :T Congratulations to all who managed to get a room:T :T :Twhat is it all about?
oh yes:beer: enjoyment0 -
Also, does anyone know what he rooms in August from £30 is about? As I can't see any-but maybe this is the wrong monet to ask.:p0

Congrats to everyone who got a room!
We did get one for £29 but not for the date we originally wanted - my OH got a Sunday night (8th June) in the end and we'll just take the Monday off work. But it will be nice to have a little time away together!
Don't suppose anyone has booked the 7th June and now doesn't want it?! We're going to a concert on the Sat night and we can get a Travelodge but it would be nice not to have to check in and out twice in 2 days!
