    Hi

I managed to get one room for the day I wanted and printed the reservation confirmed page, only to check my email and I found two confirmation emails with different confirmation numbers for the same night!

Would they consider it as double booking and I lose out? I gave them a call and the girl said she can not do anything about it and I need to wait and call later to see what to do!

Did anybody get the same issue in the past and solved to their wish?

    Many thanks:o

Yep, the first time I booked I ended up with 1 £1 and 2 £29 all for the same night. I just phoned up and they cancelled the two £29 rooms no problem. I think they're well used to this happening as when the screen freezes most people (including me!) assume that the booking didn't go through so they try to book again.......and again.......and maybe even again......and it's only when they check their email that they see that more than one booking went through.

Just tried booking hotel room for £1. I sat at the site watching the ticking clock for 15 mins. As soon as the booking for the rooms started I entered the site and tried to book whatever date was available. I only saw 2 dates between April and July. When I tried to book, I was told data not able to load and was subsequently logged out. I tried again, this time there were no dates available and this was 4 mins after 12. At 20 mins past 12 after having many unsuccessful attempts a message came up saying all rooms for £1 and £29 have gone after 19 mins. Well after 4 mins, I didnt see any rooms available at all. I do not believe there were 1,000 rooms gone in 19mins I think there were probably only a couple available in the first place. Disappointed!

Listen up all!!! All the sale rooms are gone but there are still great discounted prices for the summer. I got a £29 room in the sale and have just booked August 10th for £30 independently of the sale!! Every room on that date is £30 - GO GET 'EM!!!!

You had to refresh the page once it hit 12pm (Although it still showed the greyed out buttons for a few minutes after)

I managed to book mine by going to the 'Book normal Daily rates' button at the bottom and selecting a date, scrolling past the daily rates and underneath were the options for either a £1.00 or £29 room!

Very clever - wished I had done that.

They have 15 twin rooms, but you can only request a twin sale room, it cannot be guaranteed. In saying that I've been twice and had a twin room twice, never had any problems, tho I always put a request in the comment box when reserving.

Thanks for that. I noticed that recently they added the ability to specify a twin room on the booking pages, but this was taken down shortly before the sale, I guess so they could properly control the number of rooms dished out per night.

I imagine that is why there's no guarantee during the sale itself, as it relies on whoever checks the bookings looking for your note. Thats why I like to ring about it..that way I get confirmatio from a human that its been swapped properly.

In fact, last time I emailed to request it but received no reply. When i rang them a week or so later, the lady confirmed that it was already down as a twin.

We managed to get a £29 room for 23rd July. Our 48th wedding anniversary!

I was surprised to get confirmation for this one as tried about 8 times for different dates and no luck.

Anyone in London during the summer look on https://www.londontown.com and it will show all the events including Trooping the colour which I previously mentioned. There's Beating the Retreat in June (4th and 5th I think). The Guards bands play beautiful music on Horse guards parade.

Have fun everyone who was lucky enought to get a Hoxton booking.

  • I realise the £1 rooms are non transferable etc, but does anyone know if you can cancel or transfer the £29 rooms to another person?

I've booked a date in error!

    Thanks in advance

Anyone who is looking for a bargain show to go to- if you are short on dough consider the 39 steps. Restricted view seats are £10 fro the box office and ours were not very restricted at all- just one skinny pillar blocking the jutting out bit at the side of the stage-plus we moved at half time:o .Theatremonkey gives good advice on this It was really funny and a great experience for my 11 year old son who had his first taste of theatre. Also it doesn't go on too late for anyone with elderly rellies/kids who succeeded in booking.

No luck for me despite the useful tips - thanks to those who posted them. I got shaking hands in the excitement and that slowed me down - and once again I forgot to tick the 'Terms and Conditions' and lost the room I was booking - arghhh!

I have had a £1 and 2 x £29 rooms in the past so it is just down to luck (and steady hands and a clear head!) in the end. Well done to those who booked rooms and have a great time!

I will content myself with my upcoming weekend in a posh De Vere hotel with full English breakfast and a whole raft of hotel facilities for £78 (regular price £210 for 2 people for the weekend). And of course meals out at £10 courtesy of the Times vouchers. Thanks to MSE for leading me to those deals! I may not be actually SAVING money but I am having a great life not spending too much!
