Thanks for that ISOM - well acetate monkey...what bits I could see....looked like my mental picture I reckon.
There ya go - so ceridwen sitting here still thinking to self "Well - thats the first time my virtual and real worlds have met that closely:D ". You can tell I'm still a bit of an Internet "virgin" - thats my total of "real world" contact so far - a card sent to one "virtual friend" and a book received from another and now my "real world" chat with Mr and Mrs Weezl last night. I'se shy I is - believe it or no!;)

aww C thank you for coming out & pushing through the shyness...I know it meant alot to them Weezls and I know how nervous you were which makes it extra special! Dont you feel great for daring though?!! I do think you should change your name though as I can now only think of you as C!!! Happy peeking!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! And lovely piccies they are too. DS and i are just sat drooling over pork belly mmmmmmmmmm. Glad it all went swimmingly and i just had to add, my fav piccie is of Manu winking. As you rightly say if we recognised you all we would have to ask for autographs, darn it as i was hoping to get in early and beat the stampede, after you have all become famous for brill and upcoming book.
And the episodical adventures of foraging for food, should be collated for posterity.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

Awww...think I might just keep the name anyways. I do like it and I gather when one gets to "a certain age" (ie going into Crone age group) that it is deemed a fitting time to change ones name. I never knew that - but it looks rather like I have done so anyways!
Have been wondering whether I might actually change my name to ceridwen in the "real world" at some point...think I might wait till I do retire ...could be a commemmorative thing for a new (improved - think of all that freedom!) stage in life. So - yep...for my 3rd Age...I might just be ceridwen in all "worlds".0 -
....and on the lines of trying new things/meeting new people..I think this article was written for me;) :

Perhaps I ought to re-read it at intervals.....:D0 -
"For one thing, it’s hard to get outside your comfort zone. There’s inertia to confront, and complacency, and fear. There’s the plain old opportunity cost – if you risk going out to dinner with new friends, you’ll miss the predictably good time you have watching a favorite television show. On the other hand, if you don’t risk it, you may never know what good friends they could have turned out to be, or you may never remember what makes you laugh so hard you cry, or you may never realize you are, in fact, in a rut."
Here be a wee quote from that there article which I think is very good?! What do pepys think? I know with me that meeting new people is very nerve racking but I always feel better for the adventure when I do...possibly why the forraging has such symbolic meaning but I am lucky that I dont find it hugely difficult to adventure (bought up with move, change & unpredictabiliy of sorts) but I do find the mundane hard to keep to and this is possibly why I have huge admiration for our Weezl as know that the challenge has been hard work in so many ways & she has had to be very disciplined to stick to it - all that planning, cooking, sorting prices, working out, inventorying freezer, making bread, searching recipes, cheapest food etc and then on top of that the nutritional research! Whew....I hope last night was at least respite from all that...a few hours to chill, enjoy, not think about budget/food/cooking & let yer hair down!!!?!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
