The Weezl's have rapidly left the building! Taxi was meant to be here in 1/2 hr but arrived almost straight away lol!! Lots of scurrying, hang on's and rushing for them to gather pressies, shoes, coats, keys...so much rush they forgot the leftover pudding! Panic not Mr Weezl we'll sort out a changover tomorrow! Dont think there will be major hangovers in either camp as while we did drink it was slow & steady...although Mrs Weezl did get a bit flushed with the first cocktail & definaty blushing by the second! There were quite strong mind you!! To make "A Weezl" you put two measures of coffee liquer, 1 of expresso coffee (cooled) 1 vodka, 2 cream, ice & blend or shake over ice...I recon loads of ice would do a lovely slush puppy style cocktail but will try that another day!
All in all a lovely evening which was well worth all the work and effort....While I may have pu on a good spread tonight the award definately goes to the Weezl's who have inspired us all wth their hard work, incredible budgetting skills...not forgetting the ginormous poo! Now what I want to know is whats the last 19p going to be spent on eh? Sommat totally frivellous I hope?!!
PS ta for the offer of a tidy but being honest I do it as I go so only a few glasses left to do tomorrow!! Nowt major at all! PPS will also upload photos that are appropriate - not idenitfying for us cos people would ask for autographs, strawb jam, methods for ginormous poo flushing....list is endless!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! ok pepys my time to go to sleep! Thank you all for joining in and having fu with us! While it may not be everyones idea of a party it was a great sucess me thinks! I did wonder whether Mrs W woud wet herself when I collected them as she was SOOOO excited! Lovely and they gave me a beautiful glass with roses that Mrs W had made - I'll post photos tomorrow. Very "me" - lovely square glass vase with piece of oasis with banana leaf around it with roses all over the top...beautiful! Plus the Weezls looked VERY posh and made a huge effort...will let them tell you the tale re the clothes!
Hugs for you all...now the big ? is will there be hangovers?!! I recommend lots of snuggles in bed with OH's or in my case puss cats and a nice cuppa with sugar in! Perfect recipe for hangover! Strawberry jam with toast & butter helps to - as do paracetamol! Night night allNerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Hi
I'm looking for that there nettle pesto recipe by our Weezl purlease. Anyone know what number post its on - as I couldnt get it through t'index?
Ta.
(Hope theres no sore heads this morning!)0 -
Morning ceridwen!
It's not too sore yet. Have left Mr Weezl asleepin' I stopped after 2 cocktails and a sip of champers, but Mr W managed the fizz and then he and ISOM ventured onto the red wine....
So I'm not sure what time he'll emerge. Sometimes the day after 'a few' we aren't so good at being friendly to each other, so I hope we manage it!;)
Now then nettle pesto, the index does seem to go to the right post, but it's a very vague recipe!! Sorry! http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=10494155&postcount=207
For quantities, I used similar amounts of oil, seeds etc, to a 'normal pesto' recipe, but added more nettle leaves than I would with basil, IYSWIM. The chilli was also an interesting choice in a pesto, but worked really well! Half a teaspoon did 6 servings... Not at all sure if this helps, and I'm aware it's not at all how your ideal recipes get set out!!;)
If you're making it at this time of year, it might be best to concentrate on littler, greener leaves, to stop it being 'woody' or 'furry' The later batches we had have a 'skin of a kiwi fruit' sensation in your mouth. Quite interesting!
This is the Jamie Oliver recipe I was inspired by.
ISOM, Another huge 'morning after thankyou' for all your kindness and generosity. We felt very loved and looked after.:T:T:T:A
Thank you shaz and ceridwen for being so thoughtful, generous and organised to send something (and C, to pluck up courage to ring!) so much appreciated!:T:T:T:A
And thank you to everyone who came to the party! I hadn't quite worked out what a virtual party would be like.... I loved it!
