But you are allowed to wear masks for the piccies if you want:D - if you're as privacy-conscious (okay - some would use other words!) as I am;) - errr....but make them funny ones (now I wonder if there's any old Ronald Reagan/Margaret Thatcher ones lurking around anywheres near chez ceridwen from my "political" days of yore:D )
- or, whoops, could be we are just thinking piccies of the food?
I meant the food, but if anyone wants to make us all jealous by eating it and taking piccies at the same time......don't:rotfl: :rotfl:
I am camera shy too, so completely understand about not wanting to show piccies of self:oBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Just wanted to report back quickly on a couple of things....
The shampoo/conditioner comments - I have stopped using shampoo on anything except my scalp (can't quite bear to do conditioner only wash just yet). My hair has been much better and actually lasted 3 full days before looking greasy at the rootsSo that should save me quite a bit on using less shampoo and on conditioner and mousse too with only washing it every 3 days instead of every day or every other day
Plus olive oil worked well as an intensive conditioner (before my shampoo).
Another point, I did some more stuffed peppers (18p last week at MrT for the peppers) and took them to a short notice picnic on Sunday. I felt so good when another hubby said they looked nice and asked his wife why they couldn't have something like that (they had biscuits and were planning a takeaway on the way back from the park). Then another mum was asking how I made them and where I got slow cooker recipes from
So for a seriously cheap recipe - others were jealousof course I didn't let on how cheap they were

good price for the peppers newlywed, was that 18p each?:T :T :T
Have any of you got any experience of making pasta from scratch? Now that even value pasta has doubled in price, at tesco, I'm seriously thinking of getting a gadget for rolling out my own sheets. Argos have their pasta machine at half price, £7.49 at the mo, so I wondered if it might be a good investment!?

I have weezl and i have to say for boring old spaghetti i preferred the bought stuff
Ravioli was OK but use a filling that doesnt require cooking as fresh pasta cooks really quickly about 3 minutes
spinach ricotta and nutmeg is nice could be nettle and cottage cheese which reminds me there is a nettle gnocchi recipe doing the rounds on another board
Enjoy playing

The week before last when my German friend was with us, we went to Chester for the day. When we came home my dd had made us hm ravioli with herb and cheese filling, along with hm fresh tomato sauce. It was lovely, but she was disappointed that she hadn't really rolled out the pasta thin enough on the ravioli. My parents have my pasta maker at the mo, so must get it back, so she can have another go."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Afternoon All
Weezle.... I have one of those pasta roller jobbies that you fasten to the work top... and a machine where you throw in the ingredients..it mixes, then you open a trapdoor and i extrudes the mixture through whatever cutter you attatch (its really a play dough machine for grown ups)... but i have still found that the best thing for rolling out pasta nice and thin is a broom handle :rotfl: you can get a nice long piece and because there is no shaping on the end like a lot of rolling pins have you can get it thinner :T
The one that attatches to the worktop -I find i can't secure it tightly enough and it moves, and the other machine is great for different shapes..but a good old broom handle for normal pasta is great... i do have a ravioli mould and a cutter with multiple edges too for cutting
I have several really nice pasta books..with things like beetroot coloured pasta and even chocolate ravioli  i will have a poddle through later and see if i spot any recipes that can be "weezled"..which in my house now means -we can look at the recipe and swap ingredients over to make more economical meals that taste just as good -if not better
This morning i had kiwis to use up and found a recipe for kiwi muffins -so made them and i now have a banana , lemon, coconut cake in the oven that i adapted from a recipe someone posted me on the GC thread to distract me and to use up stuff as i need to come back to the UK on Sunday and im not sure how long i will be away for... and i didn't want to leave anything to wasteif recipes are wanted -just let me know

I have a friend who always makes gnocchi from scratch. He freezes it too. Could be good if you grow a glut of potatos or buy some whoops'd ones. You can also make gnocchi with added pumpkin - good for upping your veggie intake - might be good when butter nut squash are in season? I'm afraid I don't have a tested recipe!0
