Why is you stunned Mrs W - didnt think I'd just do beans on toast did ya?!! BTW there is a slight update as I forgot that the pud comes with HM vanilla ice cream which I have just sampled (to check it was good enough for the weezl's you understand ;) ) and is quite nice me thinks! Tell Mr Weezl well done for not blabbing - he knew menu last week as I wanted to check it would be ok & nowt you didnt like! Knew he was a trustworthy acetate monkey but thankfully not compleatly transparent! :rotfl:

Shaz I know the vinegar sounds odd but it does work, honest! I think this time I would be inclined to out a tad less in but it definately does work. Mrs Weezl can you verify thats its not mank! (dilemma here for you if you thought it was lol!!). I was making it for my mum but couldnt part with it which means its yum enough in my book! Only way you'll know is try it!! I did a vote at work & only 1 didnt like it (out of 8) but she doesent like ginger!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Off to look at the beauty treatment making stuff! Fancy a try as all jobs/chores now done so can now do nice things!

I did really like it, and I'm not a vinegar fan usually!

I'm stunned because I feel so amazed at what a lovely treat for us, and so thrilled to have 'met' you all. Gutted that shaz and ceridwen, ifonly (so pleased that's not you in the photo!!! the caption made me die laughing :rotfl:) purpleivy, bigmummaF, Germish, amalang, gettingsortedsarah, hev, trow, MrsM..... etc etc... can't all come!!!!

I suppose it's that the friendship, fun and support on here is really lovely to encounter. I'll stop now before I get my violin out and start weeping!

    Even geeks can cry! :o;)

Hopefully people will be online & join in from where you are as the plan is for Mr & Mrs W to say hi from here so you ARE all involved - I just happen to be lucky enough to live nearby!! Wouldnt be the same without you & while it MAY be an "unconventional" dinner party that is what I anticipate so PLEASE join in! So get the beers in folks!!
Didnt know you had a violen Weezl...will have to tell you a story about when I had mine (briefly!!) which I suspect will make you chuccke at my naivety!! Prooving if nowt else that I am a bit clueless!!

a revisit to the chat on essential fatty acids, omegas 3 and 6...

foods high in omega 3, implicated in helping with behavioural problems in children, along with developmental disorders are:

Linseed oil (flaxseed/linseed oil has the highest linolenic content of any food), linseeds, linseed meal, hempseed oil, hempseeds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, Brazil nuts, sesame seeds, avocados, some dark leafy green vegetables (kale, spinach, purslane, mustard greens, collards, etc.), canola oil (cold-pressed and unrefined), soybean oil, wheat germ oil, salmon, mackerel, sardines, anchovies, albacore tuna, and others.

Ways to get kids to eat more? Erm, tell them it’s only for grown ups and if they’re caught pinching it they’ll be grounded?

But seriously… Hmmmmn, either go down the route of getting a margarine with added omega 3, or the eggs that are high in them, or consider making a peanut butter alternative with brazil nuts, hide spinach in other dishes (veggie lasagne?) put flaxseed/linseeds in muffins, cakes and bread and make sardines on toast into their favourite meal? ;)Hempseed oil mixed with mustard and white wine vinegar as a salad dressing?

As you’ve probably spotted, I’ve no children, so I have no idea if these things are achievable. :confused:Looking at my friends children, it seems to range from children who eat from an early age almost exactly what their parents do, olives, capers and Serrano ham included! And others who eat traditional ‘kiddie dinners’ like alphabetti spaghetti and would [STRIKE]throw a tantrum[/STRIKE] not like anything else, so I imagine it’s to do with how adventurous the child can be persuaded to be.:D

What about a sticker chart to encourage healthy eating as a family? each get an apple sticker for consuming one of your 5 (or more!) a day, and a fish sticker for having something with omega 3. At the end of the week, there's a reward for the healthy eaters in the family?!:T:T:T

What do I know tho? Mr Weezl has not yet required the use of a sticker chart to go along with my ways!!;)
