Weezle, wot happened? Your sig said 12p last time I looked. Did you plant the 12p and grow it into £1.24?

:rotfl:LOL purpleivy, no, but that would be great eh?

No I posted earlier about how I used one of my bags of flour to bake 4 loaves for my mum who pays 60p a loaf, so that's how I grew my remaining money! We had a debate about whether it counted as cheating, but they all persuaded me not to worry!:D

Sorry folks, but as siggy implies...I'm not that technically minded....so if blog is IT for an on-line diary, I have to say I'm flattered that you think it would make an interesting read:p Truth be told, if I committed to print the sort of things I get up to each & every day, you'd think I was a script writer for a grotty day-time soap:rotfl:only with better story-lines:rotfl: :rotfl: but still not believable!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyhoo......to get back to the plot......I was in my little thinking room----ok it's the loo but my best ideas are formulated in there when I had a bit of an Arcemedes[sp!] re: the CoolBag situation. If you had x amount of carrier bags; put one inside the other to make--oh say--a sandwich of six?; then put sheets of newspaper between each carrier bag.. ..would that work? Some bottles of humble Adam's Ale frozen the night before would be the ice packs.....cuz I'm of an age when I can remember coming home from the shops with a newspaper parcel that containeda block of ice cream.

Like I said...one of my weird & whacky solutions, but in true Ceridwen fashion, I am only thinking laterally:p

Moi? Wierd, whacky? OOOOOh...I'm positively (flattered?) - and, for that, well.....one doesnt have to be that p.c.literate to do a blog...or I wouldnt be able to !!! Duh....thinking to myself....really must learn how to cut and paste stuff! Hmmm....Thats how computer-literate I'm not.:D

IOIWE where is a linky to ye bloggy?!! Just looked you up on profile but no linky but realised you can stalk people & know what theyre looking at which, to me, is kinda creepy - esp in a great for strange people kinda way!! eeewww! I have a blog but havent used it for so long they prob kicked me off by now! Dont even know the address!! Interesting to see the chages in my life as I go from hase to phase! Weezl there are also photies of the plot when I first got it so will try & find it so you an see the "improvements!!"

To see peoples blogs - click on their "name" on left side of post and up comes the box of things underneath. Scroll down and see if there is a "home page" - if there is - then click on it and you come to their blog. Just done it to have a looksee at new blog (as I didnt know the blogname and it seemed a reasonable guess that it would have been put there as an MSE homepage).

I understand ( can't remember the source unfortunately) that the govt thought we should be having 9/10 a day and that they settled for 5-a-day as they didn't think that Joe Public would buy it. Has anyone else heard this? Maybe we could do the normal 5, but top up to 10 with BBeans, juice, potatoes?

I've heard that too...have read it in a couple of books by different nutritionists...that really its supposed to be 9 a day and that the reason it is stated to be 5 is because many of the GBP (aka Great British Public) would blanche (no I dont mean blanching veggies:D ) at the thought of having to include that many.

Personally - I take it that I need 9-a-day. I dont physically count out my portions IYSWIM - but I would imagine that I must come in at that many - by the time I have fruit with my porridge, an average of 4 or 5 helpings of fruit a day and my veggies with dinner. I've got a "good resolution" on the table for when I can focus a bit more on it to add some veggies into lunch meals as well (soup or salad or crudites etc) - which will likely bring me personally up to 12-or-so-a-day (but then I am very aware that there's cancer and heart problems in my family that I'm keen to work on avoiding myself if poss.)

    Hi all

Have to say that i read a while ago that places like greece , italy etc say "10 a day"... its very rare i fall under that :T .. i eat a lot of fresh fruit n veg... but potatoes are a staple food in this house... in fact if i could only eat fruit/veg/potatoes i wouldn't mind too much...
The only thing is though that i can't make myself replce fresh fruit with sultanas etc -even though i like them ... but i do try to eat as much seasonal stuff as i can.. and will quite often eat fruit in place of a meal as such..so the cost kind of evens its self out....

Ah...right...I'll remember that one. Could explain why an Italian friend of mine thinks dinner is main course and huge bowl of cooked veg AND huge bowl of salad veg.
