I like it! If I imply I'm a family of 4 and then it's lentil-tastic, do you think all the folk whose kids will only eat meat shaped like a jet plane with baked beans will get a bit miffed with me? I know it sounds weird, but I've seen it happen on older MSE threads.;)

Acceptable OS behaviour only if you mince yellow stickered meat with a Kenwood bought on eBay and fashion the planes from instructions found on a blog.

One of my happiest food memories is eating lentil, tomato and onion stew, with mash and grated cheese when I was 4. So happy, I recreate it on a weekly basis.

P.S What should the new thread be called? This one put folk off for a bit methinks?! How about 'live healthily for 55p a day, oh yes you can!' or is that a bit bolshy!!?;)

Well its no good asking me THAT one...my mother thinks "bolshy" is my middle name;) :D - so I probably wouldnt know "bolshy" if I saw it:cool: .

That title is okay on the one hand...on t'other hand you could have a brainstorming session for a humorous one - summat along the lines of "Peanuts for Pennies" (well...maybe not quite that one...but you get my drift)...er "Give us this day our daily bread...for peanuts"......hang on in there...my brain cells are still ticking over...they might come out with something useful somewhere along the line (and a few sips of wine later;) ).

A book (not that I've ever mentioned the possibility of such a thing before......er much!).......well you wouldnt have to forget a couple of extra pages at the front for the author spiel bit of "With thanks to...x...y....z.....etc...could be a long 'un here":D (lets just make it "Thanks to a cast of thousands" - that should cover it") LOL

Like I've said before....you lot are really having a huge effect upon my life:eek:

No1 chose a roast for the b'day dinner yesterday, so as I was prepping the veg I kept muttering 'stock' over & over. So the spuds & parsnips were par-boiled first, then the rather stringy cabbage put on to simmer & later frozen mixed veg thrown in for good measure.

When it came to dishing up, me muvva thought I'd completely lost the plot as I chased bits of cabbage around my biggest casserole pot in order to not throw the veggie water away:rotfl:

So then three chicken carcass & the lamb bone went into said veg & was left to bubble for the next three hours or so & I've now got a lovely pot of stock to make Pup's gravy & hopefully some soup for us....even tho I'm the only one who looks forward to a dish of HM soup:o quote

BigMumma - you is living very dangerously you is with comments like that;) :D I've been watching the other comments you have made on this Board and I have just one word to say to you......."BLOG" (as in howzabout one then?!;) ). I've just got this mental picture in my mind of you as this "larger-than-life" character cracking jokes 20 to t'dozen (now...dont spoil it for me by telling me that you are a tiny, quiet little person who would barely say boo to a goose!)

yes! A bigMumma blog! And a shaz blog with recipes and photos!!! Hang it let's all do one!!!

Now then, ceridwen, you are clearly having a drop of the wet stuff, cos your writing went all green earlier, and that never happens!!! Are you having the end of challenge cocktail party early without us?

Is everyone having too much friday fun for me to get a little geeky?

I've been pondering the '5 a day' again. :DAlthough the govt refuse to count potatoes, I feel this is a concession to people not being very well informed about healthy eating, and a knee-jerk reaction to an idea that someone might have 5 portions of chips in a day and reckon they'd ticked the box.

    Whaddya all think?

Happy to share my geeky findings if you like????

Ooh weezl...thats my guilty secret come out....and you just told the world!!!;) :D - as in the comment re me having a drop of the "wet stuff" and my writing went all green...err...hands up.....admitted to!

I do tend to pick out those who I think are blogworthy people tis true yer honour....I'm on a mission to remedy the lack of suitable blogs in Britain you know. I really took to heart the comments during my $12,000 a year thread re the fact that there is plenty of U.S. blogs - but not a lotta British ones!:D

Okay...our weezl...I'll shut up and you can go back to being our favourite geek!

    Cheers C, mines a G&T but definate early night for me! Just made mum hummus which she loves (& is taking home cos I dont lol!) and recipe as follows;
1 can chick peas drainsed & rinsed
    Juice 1 lemon
2 tablespoons of tahini paste (I recon you could chuck a tablespoon or two of sesame seeds in with an extra glug of oil...)
    2 cloves garlic
    Pinch salt
    glug of olive oil

Chuck all the above into a blender and whizz until its as you like the texture. I like mine smooth and added one tablet (of the small blister packs IYKWIM!) of philadelphia cheese and its extra creamy! Shes munching away happily!

Chcolate reacipe to follow as am pooped - poss all that partying last night & the massage/facial today...add a G&T to that & away I go!
