I dont believe its cheating, living on a budget like yours, you would have to arrange to barter goods and skills within your community in order to increase the variety and level of comfort in your life.Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0

Bob youre meant to be me mate - stop stitching me up!! Weezl knows youre not me and the test would be quiting things cos I suspect by now she would have realised that I have a brain like a seive (!!) and wouldnt remember the quote, which would be accurate. Plus I rarely come up with plans that are as cunning as baldricks!
I am chuffed though that others agree that innovation/lateral thinking isnt cheating! Did you do sommat with the elderflowers weezl?! Just watching the deeelicious Hugh & elderflower champagne! Not sure about the mould!! eew!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

I have been thinking about elderflower champers all day since the recipe was posted earlier.
Hope you have had a good DFW fix.

I have a hunch that your honoured guests will be delighted and pathetically grateful... Just a hunch mind...;)
Well in the absence of a cool bag, I think Mrs M's breadsticks are winning so far on the party food challenge! All contenders still welcomed though...

Forgive me for sounding a bit dim...not properly awake yet:o ...but if you are using a shop-bought jar of mayo, could you not mix up the actual potato salad at the beginning of the party? We don't eat things like it so I don't know if the spuds etc will be ok out of a cool bag either, but just a thought.
I haven't seen MrsMc's recipes for the cheesie thins or marmite twists on here either.
And what about those dry roasted thingies you were talking about the other day Weezl---sorry, I did warn you I wasn't with it:p Or I should say even less with-it than I normally am:DFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

I think breadsticks and hoummus sounds fine weezl
The potato salad ....................i would try to not add the mayo till last minute as suggested above i think a couple of hours as long as its not really warm will be ok .....shop bought mayo contains loads of preservatives its not like homemade that has raw egg in
You could always make an ice bowl
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/817683/make_an_ice_bowl/
you can put flowers and herbs in the water
What about a pasta pesto salad i use bettabuy twists cooked and rinsed then stir in pesto and serve cold kids love it the pasta is still 19p a packet (500g)
