Hi shaz and bigmumma, great ideas about not mixing the spuds with the mayo til I get there, I reckon a pasteurised, unopened jar would be good out of the fridge, that's where they keep it in the supermarket eh?!

How many kilos of potatoes would you do for a party of 20 people? Everyone's bringing summat, but some will bring drinks...

Just going to bake a batch of my bread for my parents, ready to increase my budget slightly!!! Really do hope this doesn't make anyone lose faith in the challenge and how doable it is! I have got 26 evening meals left in the freezer, with only 9 days to go, so with better planning I know I could've accomodated a 'bring and share' do...;)

Will update my sig when my mum's paid me ;).

:TNEIL DIAMOND TONIGHT!!!!:T very excited. Before it, ISOM and her mummy are coming for supper with me, Mr Weezl and my Mum and Dad.

I'm hoping I can get our mums to be pals, they spookily live in the same place, and share a love of gardening. And their daughters are similarly eccentric!

    Report back later....

As my next challenge is brewing away, as is my blog (they will both begin in earnest at the beginning of July as this challenge ends:o) Do you think I should carry on posting my challenge here too? Or start a new thread, (perhaps with a title that is a better reflection of content...?)

    Love you all, Weezl x

it might be better to start a new thread, as this thread is already really long as it is and there is such a lot of good info in there, that it would be a shame to put newbies off reading it! If you started a new thread it would help people to be able to follow it!

I'm not sure how it fits with the board guides aims to try to keep everything in the same place that's on the same theme.... Hmmmmn, perhaps I'll PM one of them :D I like to do things right!!

You could start a new thread with a linky at the end of this one for the new challenge. That way the old faithful dont loose you & the newbies dont get put off by a squillion posts BUT also dont want to loose the recipes...if your emailing mods can you ask if there is any way all the recipes could be merged onto the main recipe index...would be such a shame to loose them because theyre yummy but the boards move so quickly I'm worried they may get lost otherwise?
OK off to snooze (mum asleep but retending not to be!) and get ready for later!! I was going to do a linky to Pointer sisters u tube DVD "I'm so excited" but its ruuuuude!!! Oh dear! Feel quite shocked!

:D I've just "won" my little bet with myself as to when the blog starts:T Goodo...we're on a countdown here;)

Yep - I'll go with the consensus of opinion - ie that if you do start a new thread, then please do a linky on it back to this thread (so it doesnt get "lost") - think the first post of new thread seems the right place to put it IYSWIM.

Re the mention of your and ISOM's respective mothers..... thinks....we've already had a certain Mr Weezl putting in an appearance....thinks........(I think you get my drift:D ).

Could get to be a real "family concern" - with a few "adopted" relatives of various descriptions.

Morning all! C my mum knows about the site (always laughs when I say I have to update the girls!!) and I thik Mrs Weezls has also been known to frequent?!! Neil was fab and we had a lovely meal. Yummy pasta, Mrs W's delicious rolls (recipe please!) pasta sauce (recipe please Weezl mummy! did it have olives in?) and my chocolate tart from Mrs Weezls recipe book which I will post later because, if I dont say so myself, it was yummy but you really did only need a tiny bit - although "Hollow legs Mr Weezl" had a double portion & finished the MIL's!! Surprised he wasnt sick!!
All in all in my book a perfect evening. Lovely company (thank you & Mr Weezl for being such a lovely hosts), good food, amazing entertainment & free parking!! Mrs Weezl do you think your neighbor would like a ginger cakie as a thank you for the permit?! Just thought it would be nice as it saved us a tenner & in her current state thought a nice ginger cake wouldnt go amiss?

Weezl - write a book - honestly, write a book. I would buy it!

All the recipes in one place, all the stuff you've found out, write a book!

I bet there would be publishers out there wanting to find 'economical' cook books.

I don't know how it would work, with all the contributors to this thread, but honestly, a book which I could refer to would be brilliant. That way all the contributions would not be lost, and you should keep all the stories and the gossip and support in as well.

I am just amazed and I am looking at the index as I meal plan for next week.
    Always another chapter

ooooh thanks Hev! Any publishers out there? We are very willing to enter into negotiations!!!

Just updated sig, now have £1.24, which adds on the bread sold to my mum, but subtracts buying flour and 2.5 kilos of spuds. So I think I'm set to go down the potato salad route, not that Mrs M's breadsticks aren't BTS! ;) Feels exciting to have money in the pot again, though I'm not sure I'll need it!

I'll really miss this thread if I start a new one, it feels like a sort of home!

    love you all, Weezl x
