Morning all !
Wet and windy day - got to wait in just in case roof chap calls to give quote for repairs.............he said he'd be here yesterday so I stayed in all day and he didn't arrive ! Why do they do that ???
Big Bruv went to see Mum this morning and she seems quite bright he said so hopefully she'll stay that way. Can't expect great things of her but she must have some stamina hidden somewhere to keep giving us these 'scares' and still come out fighting.
Phone call from ex foster lad whos homeless.........his own fault really as he didn't pay his rent on previous accomodation but he's still only 18 (going on 15 in maturity) and needs his hand holding to make sure things get done and paid for.
He was only ever with us for respite periods but it doesn't stop the worrying about what will happen to him. I've rung soc. services to try and gee them up a bit to sorting something out but they can only tell him where to try for hostels.........no guarantee he'd get places as they could well be full anyway. Its a sad world when so many of these young people end up like this.
Hope you all have a good day and hugs ((((((((((((:o ))))))))))) to those who need themMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Morning everyone. How late am I? Page 3 already! DH decided to stay at home to make phone calls and catch up with paperwork so he's only just left for work.
SMOKY - (((Hugs))) to you and the LOs. Hope yesterday went as well as it could have. Remember, we are all here for you when you are ready and are in our thoughts daily.
TIRED MUM - have a great time in Cyprus!
MUMZY - well done on the non-smoking!
Well, I am afraid I have read the first three pages here at abut 300 miles an hour but will try and catch up with everyone later. I have at least managed to change the sheets and hoover and dust upstairs, prep the veg for tonight's dinner which is roast chicken breasts, pots, asparagus (a yellow-stickered bargain from the Co-op), courgettes and gravy. Pudding is the rest of Aussie's Impossible Pie to which I added some drinking chocolate powder and it is truly truly delicious!
My small pile of ironing will have to wait until tomorrow because I want to clean and hoover downstairs and then I have some paperwork to do - as always.
Hope everyone had a good day and (((hugs))) to all those in need.

Morning :hello:
Well it's clouded over again now... but yesterday when I got home from work I actually managed to be in during daylight hours when it wasn't raining (which hasn't happened for weeks) so I finally got around to cleaning my big living room window :j I did it using the vinegar-and-water-applied-with-newspaper method and it's made such a difference. Didn't have time to do my bedroom window as I had to go out, but should get round to that tomorrow, weather permitting. And while I'm at it I'll do the shower screen and bathroom basin which are both glass.
Lunch today is HM chilli con carne and rice from a batch I had frozen; not sure what's for dinner - got a little packet of new potatoes in a herb butter which I picked up yellow-stickered on Bank Holiday Monday! so it really ought to be used up today
I'm just not sure what with. Will be doing a fish pie over the weekend, possibly tomorrow though more likely Sunday, as I've got a good selection of white and pink fish in the freezer and a bag of spuds in the cupboard rapidly going to seed despite being in a cool dark place
kyle that sicky bug sounds horrible. I'm told one of the disadvantages of having children is that you catch all the germs they bring home from school! Hope you are all feeling better soon.
Welcome gilliana
((((smoky))))
ivyleaf, that's awful for your MIL! Definitely worth fighting for in every way possible.
mary43, glad your mum is doing better
catowen, csarina, please come back
Hi to all I haven't mentioned in person  and ((hugs)) where necessary.

Hi mumzyof2, think I missed you on the giving up smoking thread. I know how you feel. I am bored ridged today and cant be bothered doing anything even though I have a big long list of stuff to do. I think it must have something to do with us giving up smoking. But hang on in there, I am sure it will get better and we will go back to feeling normal sometime soon, xOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 086Proud to be dealing with my debts !Total Debt: Was £6368.84  now £945.36Sealed Pot Challenge 049 Aim £5000

Thanks HARIBO - That's what you get when you read the thread too fast. I'm so sorry, TIRED MUM and MUMZY but, MUMZY - take TIRED MUM with you then I won't feel so bad!
I already feel bad because I have neglected CHURCHMOUSE - sorry, CM, here are your waves!:hello: :hello: :hello:
It's tipping it down here - I was meant to go to the bank this morning but I talked DH into going instead on his way to work. Only one of us gets wet, then and it's not me! I bet now he'll forget what he went there for and have to phone me up!
Well, I don't know why I came back on here. I was sort of drawn to it when I made my coffee and put the bread in the oven. I have started my boring paperwork but I'm much rather be on here! I have actually got all my chores done bar the ironing, which I'll do tomorrow, so I'm not going to feel guilty!
Well, I'd better get a wiggle on - the sooner I get back to the paperwork the sooner it will be done.
See ya!
