    Morning All

Miserable weather here again. Still driving Mum's car as BIL still hasn't been over to replace my battery. Filled Mum's car up for her yesterday - £40:eek:

Mr Bumble (moneybox) ate 40p last night as I found two very shiney 20p pieces in my purse.

Salmon for dinner tonight. We bought a whole one at Mr T last week for £9:T Going to get at least 3-4 dinners out of it. Much cheaper than buying individual steaks. Think we're having light cheese sauce, pasta and cherry tomatoes with it.

Looking into college courses at the moment, as I'd like to put something else under my belt. I'd like a Spanish refresher, as I have my GCSE and would like to get my A-Level. Also seen another course diploma course, but again, I need to remember what I learned 8 years ago before embarking!!

Also browsing for hols in Spain too for me and Mum.

    Hope everyone's ok

((((smokey)) Hope everything went as well as it could have yesterday.

Persisting it down here this morning. Once all the kids are dropped off at school (got 2 extra today). Will carry on painting. Managed to get all garden furniture painted yesterday in between the hail, and rain and sunshine. Got one kitchen chair sanded and undercoated and now need to give it its top coat.
Got bread to make, food to prepare, glad rags to sort out (going out for a meal tonight). The usual tidying etc - crikey I'm tired just thinking about it!

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all.

Firstly, a big thank you from me to all of you, for being you and for being there.

To anyone who is hurting or suffering: the sun WILL shine again. And when it does, take time to observe the beauty that flourishes as a result of the rains. Without them, life would be a barren desert.......

I had a productive evening yesterday so hopefully I'll do the same today. I made enough pasta sauce type stuff to feed an army and that's now residing in the freezer. I also had a result with the scones. Yummy the are if I say so myself. (nobody else will 'coz they'll not last that long :o ) I managed to stab myself silly with my new knife and the sharp edges of the empty tom tins but where there's no sense, there's no feeling

Real muesli for brekkies today, the ghastly value stuff is all gone at last. Finances to sort out tonight and then, der-de-der-de-der, it's pointy stick and stringy stuff time    If anyone in Cumbria hears screaming it's probably me :D

Have a safe day, and take care.

    Martyn.

I'm just going to wake the DD's as porridge is nearly ready. DH has his annual works medical today and I have promised myself a couple of hours peace and serenity this morning watching my favourite film The Color Purple drinking coffee and eating chocolate. Not at all OS but we all deserve a treat now and then :) .

DD's have theatre club this evening and then it will be a takeaway for dinner - our monthly payday treat.

Hope you all have a great day

very wet here too. glad I got so much washing done yesterday. the ironing pile is like a mountain again though.
plans for today. must make a start on last piece of coursework. have been putting off putting pen to paper (or finger to the keyboard) by endlessly researching online and reading books. But I cant put it off anymore. I have to write 4500 words for the 7th april  sounds a lot but the topic is so huge it will be more difficult to keep it within the limits....I hope

tonight's tea will be pork chops marinated in a hoi sin sauce. lunch will probably be some soup.

  • Morning all.. haven't looked out to see if there's rain here too but sky looks very grey & murky....

Nipping across to Brighton Uni to meet a mate for coffee this morning, then back to await delivery of a considerable amount of flatpack furniture from Ikea..... Can anyone guess what I'll be doing for the next few days...?! :(

Went for supper at a friend's last night, and he said "do you know, I've discovered something very strange about 2 separate friends of mine (male), one of who is 48 & the other 50 something... My mind was boggling.....lol
Then he announced that he's discovered they've both started making their own bread!!!!!!!!!!! I had fits of the giggles!!!!!! He's not into the internet, so wouldn't know about this forum, but I wonder if they do :) I told him it's the in-thing & he should come & try my cheesy tear-off bread, or my cinnamon sugar bread, or herby granary bread... and so on. :) The way to a man's heart is definitely through his stomach then :)

Hope you all have a good OSing day and (((((((((hugs))))))))) to all who need them - and to those that don't, cos a hug is still a lovely thing to have.

    xx

ps dogrose - what topic are you writing about? (from a fellow nosey student....)

pps martyn - pointy stick & stringy stuff?? my mind is boggling again... Forgot to say yesterday, I have a scone recipe somewhere that only uses SR flour, lemonade & double cream to make them - sounds utterly bizarre, but makes the lovliest lightest scones... . Think I may have found it on here even, and thought it was a wind-up, but it really works :)

    Good morning everyone,

No rain here yet, but it's blowing a gale, so I'm sure the rain will arrive soon.

I have 4 small pairs of trousers to take in today so that they fit the skinny waist of ds, whose legs are growing, but whose middle isn't. We had a much better nights sleep last night.

Poor Kyle, I was hoping you wouldn't catch the horrible bug from the boys. Take it as easy as you can today, I really feel for you.

    (((Hugs))) for Smoky and family.

    Take care all of you
