  • I am so glad you have told him.... I have been checking the post to see how things went.

And yes, us men are fairly predictable when it comes to blowing our tops and it usually means, running to our mams as well (must be some sort of natural throwback in our genes)

However it also means in a day or so, he will calm down and you will both realise this is the best thing that could ever happen, Coz at the end of the day family is more important than anything else and you are now on the road to getting things sorted.

    Well done you :T

Well done on telling him, hopefully now you can both sit down and sort things out together.

  • I knew he would come back, ;) you said he was a lovely man didn't you.

You will feel so much lighter now having shared the load I promise you, and the fact that he is taking responsibility will mean you will have much less of a burden.

Really pleased for you and hope all goes well with CCCS :T

Wish someday to be as supportive and helpful on here as you lot.

Mrs lady - hope all settles down and cheesy grins are back on both your faces soon!

Well done for telling him. It is true that you should have done this a lot earlier but you have been very very brave and done 'the right thing'. What you did ie telling him, was the very worst part, I hope that paying off the debt and rebuilding the trust in your marriage goes well.
    Loving the dtd thread. x
  • BY admitting you have a problem you are halfway to solving it. By telling your husband you are more than halfway to solving your debt problem. like others have said you need a plan of action and look at where savings etc can be made. Good luck with it. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!:j
  • WOW what a day you have had lady its never nice having to break news like this. I know you will feel better having it all out in the open so yous can deal with it together. all the best and take care xx

Hopefully this will be the begining of a new financial future together.
When i first got together with my now wife I had quite a bit of debt of my own and since then when I first started working for myself, have been in some precarious financial situations.
What we have always done is every month sit down together and go through any unusual expenditure that has or is about to come up. Not saying it has been perfect and has always kept us out of debt. But by working together and pooling our resources we have always been able to muddle through and most importantly both been aware of the situation.
You need to look at the debts as both of yours and not just yours and any income you have as "our" income and not his and yours.
We managed to pay off over £25K of debt in 4 years by working together at it.

    Hi Mrs Lady,

I read your first posting this morning and have just logged on to catch up. Wow, what a shock reading what you've been through. Glad OH back and I'm sure things will calm down eventually. Good luck with CCCS and hope you manage to work through this blip in your relationship.
