"Talk Talk has a 30 day free trial (I presume once you are actually set up) - anyone know if the trial is in fact 'free'?"
Not a "FREE" trial, just a "30 Day Trial".
I think a couple of points to lookout for:- If you get be connected to Talktalks' LLU platform then if you choose to cancel then you would have to arrange reconnection to BTs' network and hope that you don't incur a charge. Also your broadband would be considered a new provide on BTs' network therefore, unlike a normal migration where the Openreach fee of £11 is normally absorbed by your new ISP, the fee is £30-£40 payable up front (unless your new ISP is doing a deal on new connections).
You can also expect up to 10 days without broadband unless you can also arrange a "simultaneous provide"“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0 -
TalkTalk`s equipment is not in every BT exchange at the moment so certain areas cannot get it.
Obviously they know which exchanges are next on their list to access and so I would think they take orders for these areas and that`s why people are kept waiting.
In my own case I ordered online on 14/3 and it immediately showed a connection date of 8/4.
I have received my modem, cables, splitters and DD is set up plus a letter from BT saying "sorry" to lose you.
My connection date has actually been brought forward and should happen this Thursday 3/4.
It`s all running TOO smoothly.0 -
So far, so good for me. Talktalk have sent me all the info, the disc and modem etc and I'm supposed to go live on 14 April. I'm impressed with their level of pre-service at least !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hi all, this is my first post on these forums. I thought i'd take advantage of this Talk Talk Uswitch offer of 2 free months line rental by 31st March. I used the link provided in the email and got connected to the Uswitch site, which directed me to the Talk talk registration page. I went through all the hoops but didn't see any mention of the free line rental offer. I assumed I'd have confirmation of the deal in my 'Welcome pack.'
I contacted the Talk Talk customer services and they told me there was no such offer! Does anybody know how to proceed with this, or should I just write off the £20 odd quid?
Thanks in advance.0 -

I decided to change to Talk Talk last month, but then had to go away. I expected to return to NO telephone and NO broadband......... to say I was amazed at having no problems what-so-ever connecting to this new service is an understatement:j All I can say for the momentct is Well done Talk Talk, I just hope all will continue to be trouble free:o Before anyone asks, I have no connection to Talk Talk at all. Its nice to give praise when something runs smoothly. When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0

I must agree with Gatita.
Having been active with TalkTalk for only three weeks now, the changeover and service and everything working and running on time has been absolutely amazing.
I didn`t think we had any compainies left in the UK that could deliver what they promised but it seems we have with TT.
My internet connection has never been better or faster, the line rental is the same as BT and I get all the free calls.
I was on the blower to Spain two nights this week, about an hour each time and it was FREE.
I remember getting ripped off by BT at 35p a MINUTE!
All this for £16-39 a month
it`s a no-brainer

Our experience isn't as good. The internet connection is patchy, it often requires switching off the modem and starting again, and we can't EVER get onto the webmail at home.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
