Did you get the cheap TalkTalk deal via Uswitch?

UPDATE THURSDAY 17 APRIL
If you took the deal between the dates specified and are unhappy you need to send an email by Friday 18 April in order to get a response. Thanks.
What's this about?
If you got the TalkTalk special deal via Uswitch (see the past email) to get two months line rental back that I put in the weekly e-mail a few weeks ago, making, you maybe able to get some more money back. This is because we were incorrectly given info by TalkTalk; and therefore told you the wrong thing.
However, it is still the cheapest deal around for Home Phones, read the full guide.
What was wrong?
Normally in my articles I incorporate the £30 connection fee as part of the monthly fee (ie as its an 18 month contract we add £30/18 to the monthly fee). Yet we had been told, in error, by TalkTalk powers that be, that this connection fee no longer existed, and had taken it out.
After discovering the error, I spoke to TalkTalk to note I felt this unfair on MoneySavers and my own reputation. Whilst its only £30, and I've only had one person contact me about it, and the fact even with the £30 its still the cheapest deal of its type for me this is a problem.
Many people have signed up without knowing the full cost and that's not what we're hear to do.
The Solution
After chatting with TalkTalk, it has kindly agreed set up a special e-mail address for MoneySavers who took the deal if they're not happy.
It says depending on where you are in the activation process you can either cancel or request a refund of the connection fee which will probably be credited to your next bill. It won't commit to saying it will refund the whole fee but I'd suggest this is what you should ask for.
Do remember though, the deal you got was still cheaper than TalkTalk normally is, and it is the cheapest broadband calls all-in package anyway.
What to do if you're not happy
If you ordered TalkTalk broadband between Tues 25 March and Monday 31 March:
1.) E-mail Stephen Fell at stephen.fell@cpwplc.com
2.) Make sure you include your reference number and details
IMPORTANT. DO not use this email for contacting TalkTalk about anything else. This contact details is specifically for sorting out the connection charge problem, other queries won't be responded to.
Have I been totally cheated?
While the information we got was misleading, it'simportant to note the TalkTalk deal is still a good one. Even with the £30 connection fee it still beats anything else out there, so don't feel too hard done by.
For full details on the talktalk deal read the Cheapest Home Phones article.

Isn't Stephen Fell the guy who used to post here on MSE as TALKTALK_SUPPORT offering to sort out any and all Talk Talk problems but who, mysteriously, hasn't posted since February?MSE_Martin wrote: »After chatting with TalkTalk, it has kindly agreed set up a special e-mail address for MoneySavers who took the deal if they're not happy.

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Well done Martin - if it works. When I had problems with TalkTalk I couldn't even get an acknowledgment of letters sent to their chief exec.0
