Just found out that I was caught in the net as well:mad:. For me it was Ticketmaster....

Asked the bank to cancel all future payments. Am now chasing for a refund.

Did you get the refund from your bank/card company or shoppersdiscounts?

    It only takes two steps:
1-A phone call to SD&R (2-3minute), confirm your email, name and address (and you'd like all your money back, as you didn't know that you signed up to their membership).
2-Posting of the claim form below. (which they email to you as a result of the phone call):

Note: Your cancellation ref number is in the email they send with the claim form.

Too many people are ringing their bank which is a longer process.

I had my last 3 payments refunded, a claim form emailed to me and my “membership” cancelled by the end of the phone call.
I received an email (a day after the posting of my claim form) to say they’ll refund me the rest of my money.
4 working days after the phone call I received my last 3 payments.
8 working days after the phone call I had received all the money they took for my account.

Do not settle for anything less than all your money back.
  • I have just ordered printer cartridges from day2dayshop and there was a link to the vouchers page in the confirmation email. I clicked the link but have not entered anything else. Will I be OK? I have already emailed day2dayshop including a link to this thread and telling them that I will not be using them again because they are linked to this company.
  • Like so many others, I've been signed up for Shoppers Discounts unwittingly via Thetrainline.com

Worse still, I used my debit card on the site and when I contacted my bank - Lloyds - they explained that I cannot recall or cancel a debit (unlike a Direct Debit which I could cancel or a Credit Card which I could question) and that the only protection would be to never use a debit card on line, but use a credit card and change my current debit card so that the 16 digit code on the current one would be invalid. Frightening to think that your bank accoungt could be cleared out and you would have no redress!

Shoppers Discounts have promised a partial refund - I need to complete a claim form for a full refund, apparently

  • we have just had £10 taken from our account and found out it was through buying throughallposters- we got the money refunded but this is utterly disgusting as my husband never knowingly agreed to signing up with this company!
  • ps hubby is a solicitor and is about to find out their local trading standards office details so we can all complain- will post a link when i have the details
  • Hi guys, ok I to noticed a £10 withdrawel from my credit card account. I phoned up and the nice lady said the membership had been cancelled as I asked and the £10 refunded. She did this without any hesitation!
The only company which I remember this transaction was Ticketmaster, I bought some tickets and this daft shopper discounts link came up when i was buying the tickets, i read through it all and at no point did it say that it would cost me £10 per month for what?

Anyway all is resolved i just gotta wait for my refund, only for going online to look at my credit card statments I would not have found out until the next one which is 3 weeks away, scary.

Beware of this scam I`am sure it is illegal!!!

    Dear Shoppers Discounts and rewards.

In December I ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut using their online service. On completing the order I was given the option of receiving a discount voucher for a further Pizza Hut Pizza which linked to your site, which I duly accepted.

I have just logged into my bank and found you have taken £10 out of my account.

On searching the internet, it appears I am not alone and numerous people have been taken in by what is effectively a scam.

I have just searched your site and there is no where obvious that says there is any monthly charge for membership. Other cashback sites such as Quidco don't charge as they make their money from the businesses.

Being a referral via Pizza Hut, I (as many other have) obviously presumed it was a promotion authorised through Pizza Hut, hence was a legitimate offer.

I have cc'd this to both Trading Standards and Pizza Hut (copied entire email into their web contact page as they don't appear to supply an email address on their web page) who in my opinion should remove your link from their site.

Any company such as yours that hides the fact there is a monthly fee in small print (which I still haven't managed to find) is nothing but a con. I'm not sure, but as far as I remember, I didn't even give you my bank details, if I'm correct in this, they Pizza Hut must have passed them on to you.

    Please refund my £10 ASAP.

You are not authorised to EVER take another penny off of me.

    Please close my account ASAP.

If my money is not received within 28 days, I will proceed with a claim through the small claims court including damages for stress caused.

Companies operating in a way yours does should simply not be allowed.

PS, Pizza Hut, you should be ashamed of yourselves for promoting a site like this one. Not at all impressed and my views will be made known on the web.

Hmm, trading standards don't appear to think they're doing anything dodgy really
    Re: Shopper Discount and Rewards

Thank you for providing us with a copy of the email you sent to the above firm.

I have looked at the company’s website and the charge of £10 per month is stated several times on the ‘sign-up’ page (although the price could be made bolder and clearer). However, if the terms of the service were not made known to you at the time you requested the Pizza Hut voucher, then you may be entitled to take the position that you have no contract with the company, and that you are therefore entitled to your money back.

I hope that you receive a satisfactory response from the company. If you do not, you may wish to contact your card issuer to ask them to reverse the payment, on the basis that you did not authorise it.

If you have further questions about this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Yours sincerely
