  • I also inadvertantly joined up with this mob via liGo Electronics.
My wife & I spotted the 3rd debit on 9th Sept.
I phoned my Card company, Santander, & they offered to "Dispute" the charges.
We later found the 2 earlier debits & disputed them too.
I received a letter from Santander yesterday (dated 10th Sept) saying that this was sucessful & that £10 was credited to my account. I hope that further letters are in the post.
I've also severed my relationship with SD by email.
This is an alternative way of sorting these people out.
  • i've been had as well through national express

called them, they tried to fob me off, but eventually agreed a full refund.

called american express, they are well aware of this company and have advised you have to unclick a box to avoid your details being passed on. which means you actively have to opt out - not legal.
  • My sister has just noticed £10 a month has been taken from her account over the last 6 months from shoppers discount. The website she sustpects has enabled them to do this is www.lookfantastic.com. She called Lloyds TSB and they put her through to the fraud department. They have guaranteed her a refund in 3-5 days and have said they are going to prosecute, they told her not to contact shoppers discount, and that they will deal with the case.

IF YOU BANK WITH LLOYDS PLEASE CONTACT THEM 1ST, IT'S TIME THIS SCAM WAS STOPPED.

  • I too was stung after signing up for the £15 discount next time I booked train tickets. I just noticed a payment of £10 from my account and after checking on here I called the number which also appeared with the payment on my back statement. I didn't choose any of the options but held on to speak to a person - the call was promptly answered and I cancelled my membership and asked for a refund - there was no problem and it was agreed straight away. I had an email in my inbox as soon as I came off the phone and was told I'd have my £10 refunded within 10 days - I'll keep you posted!

Not only are Easy Life part of this scheme, but they have just been censured by the ASA for selling a magnetic device that was supposed to improve your posture. As their answer to the ASA shows:-

    Response
    1. & 2. Easylife said they had advertised the product for some time without complaint. They did not however have documentary evidence to support the advertised claims.

They seem happy to sign up to any old scam without giving it a second thought.

    ASA article

Easylife have been censured again, this time for some non sustainable claims about (how can I put it) a sort of vacuum pump:- ASA

I was signed up via Monarch, but I know I didn't enter my card details to SD&R. I almost used Photobox today too, good job I checked in here. I'll post a comment on the link above to let them know I;m not happy with SD&R and photobox foe using them.

I'll check on here for a better alternative to Photobox, I have old negatives from photo's developing and photo's I've scanned, if anyone can reccomend a service please pm me, thanks
  • How I wish I'd checked here before having anything to do with this mob!

I was roped in via 'movietickets.co.uk' when I bought some cinema tickets online, the invitation was to get a £15 discount on my next tickets for joining shoppersdisc.

Thankfully I check my credit card frequently and noticed the withdrawal straight away.

Shoppersdisc were actually reasonable as I had not used their 'facilities' at all and promised to cancel my account & refund me the £10 they had taken.

    Time will tell............
  • Just to say, I received the refund in full of £90.00 as they promised, £30 within two days and also received the remaining £60 within two days of sending in a form they send you disputing the payment as unauthorised, if you ask them which company has passed your details to them they will tell you.
