Another complication that comes to mind is that the amount in my totals column would be true for those months without a win as being the 1st of the month, but the win months the amount is increased, but could be anytime in the first week of the month as the draw date varies. 😒
Not sure I'm fully understanding what you're trying to say here, but there's no need for a spreadsheet model to reflect individual days within a month, so one line per month should suffice - obviously prizes paid during the month will increase the total holding going into the next draw, but the exact date of payment within the month shouldn't matter?

One thing I noticed on my NS&I online account is that there's no mention of my earlier wins. The wins were received as a cheque rather than my later ones that I set to auto reinvest, but surely they should still be showing on the system..? 🤔

I've checked previous paperwork against what is currently on my account and the holder's numbers match though the hole in data and no more wins for those bonds does make me wonder...

The paper record sent in 2011 when I bought more bonds shows the holder's number, but not an NS&I number. Is it possible to have multiple NS&I numbers?

    Thoughts please.
You could write to them and ask for them to send you the records they have for you internally that the portal doesn't show.

I was hoping to clear things up with a quick phone call but it seems the very polite bot is no good for that and just told me to write to NS&I (as you did). I wrote, waited several weeks, then got a missed call about my complaint (it was a query and/or observation, not a complaint), then a week or so I received a letter regarding my complaint (it wasn't a complaint!! 😤)...

They sent me a summary of all my bonds (not needed as that is complete online) and this is already out of date as I've won again since. 😁 They explained that the online transaction history only shows the past 12 months. This is wrong as mine shows the previous 3 years. There was no mention of the online prize history, though they could confirm my previous wins that do not show online. They did say they'd be sending me my full prize list, though it's been 3 weeks and still no sign.

If they have the information it wouldn't take much to display it all online with filters for years or some way to search a range.

Oh well, at least I know they have records of all my bonds and they are all still active in the draws. 🙂

What does your on line bond holding show ?  All bonds held against your account should be showing and if not then something is amiss.
On my account the prize history only goes back to 2020.

The list of bonds was correct and complete, but the transaction history and prize list were incomplete. They wrote to tell me only the past 12 months are shown in the transaction history, which is total nonsense as mine goes back 36 months and yours even further.

I just find it very odd (and irritating) that the online information is incomplete. 😊

    £100 'win' on £1,000 holding :)
Quality (of holding) over quantity is important
With average luck I can expect another £100 win once in the next 5 years
£100 'win' again this month on £1,000 holding after that previous £100 'win' in July. So as it happened didn't have to wait 5 years but 2 months instead.
    How wonderfully lucky!

I've just won £100 this month on a £3K holding, the last win being £25 in June 2023. So not sure how that ranks in the 'luck stakes'...
  • After reading the latest posts I think I'm doing very well this year. I started with £4475 and now have £5200 (all £725 of my wins have been auto reinvested). 😍 The Aug & Oct wins come from the win reinvested in Feb. 😁

    Jan £0
    Feb £500
    Mar £0
    Apr £25
    May £0
    Jun £0
    Jul £0
    Aug £50
    Sep £50
    Oct £100

    Let's hope my luck continues...

And of course there's no point in changing them if you believe that makes any difference to the odds of winning, other than lowering them temporarily while you sit out a month.

    2 x £100 and 1 x £25 for me on £48k holding -  that's  £1,800 for the year from January.

Yet some people think it makes a change. Newer bonds come up purely because there are more newer bonds

I do think that longer blocks win more often, so selling up odds and ends and combining them would be the only change that I would make.

Few bonds win more than once, but I’m not aware of being able to sell up individual bonds. If someone needed some funds, it would perhaps make sense to start with a winning bond and sell from there.
