Mmmmm, makes me think my luck must be about to run out!
I've had the max holding since March's draw and have won something most months.
This months been very kind to me, with 4 prizes totalling £1150 bringing the total amount to just over £2000 :j0 -
Well done Debbers and all who won. Debbers you've done exceptionally.
Chance, luck, whatever - I've never had that on my side so am surprised I've won anything in the 6 months I've been in so far frankly!
Probably will cash them in and just keep a small block, so I'll have some 'significant' chance of a win, but not hold the max any more. Not the most original or adventurous of strategies but don't think the luck or providence is gonna change now somehow.Escaped from Barnet to freedom in the South-East!0 -
Good lord, just remembered to check mine. 4 x £50 and 1 x £100. Get something most months but this is exceptional!

I have never had a win.... BUT I have a total of 250 for 7 years ......
The way I see it that's the same amount I have spent on the lottery over nearly 7 years , I don't do it every week and a quid is my maximum and I STILL have my 250 quid!
gotta look on the positive side. :rotfl:0 -

I am a holder of pb's, and added to my stock by buying some on Tuesday. On the internet site I ordered £50 more than I normally do. However on Wednesday my bank contacted me to say there may have been some fraudulent transactions on my account. I confirmed the transaction was legitimate.
They then said they had unfrozen my card and I could use it again.
So on Wednesday evening I ordered the same amount of bonds.
On Thursday evening I returned to find an email from ns&i saying that my transaction had been rejected.
However on Friday the money for the bonds was in a pending state waiting to leave my account.
By the time I got home on Friday, the money had left the account.
However according to the ns&i CSR that I spoke to, if my bank denies the transaction at any point, that is the end of it. They are not expecting any money. I should reapply for some bonds.
So now I potentially have some money in limbo. Ns&i may receive some money and they may know who it is from so they may credit me with some bonds.
Or the money has disappeared into the ether.
I can only find out more on Monday when ns&i's back office is open.
Think I am either going to set up a standing order, or just buy at the post office.
What I find annoying is that a few months ago I bought pb's in exactly the same way, but for 10x the amount on Wednesday. Not a peep from my bank at that time.
Oh and nothing for me this month.0 -
Bah! buying over the internet - rant
Best way to buy bonds is to use cheque at the post office counter on the last possible post office working day of the month....that way you buy the bonds at the best possible time knowing you must hold them for a month before they enter the draw, and since the cheque takes a few days to clear (in true mse fashion!!) you get an extra few days interest while your money sits in your account...!
Banks and credit cards providers are very weird when it comes to card transactions stopped by their security...Once thinking it was the best thing to do I pre-warned and requested that they add a note to my account that I would be on holiday abroad and provided dates accordingly so they would not block the card thinking something was wrong.
So while abroad, 2 days before my return, 2x separate transactions from an apparent cloning of my card took place in a UK store of Richer Sounds at a combined total of £8500.
Idiots cleared it all and never batted an eyelid knowing that I was not in the country. Using my mobile at international rates I then had to report it to them having prudently and routinely been checking my cards online just in case...they blocked the card thankfully. I was their security it felt!!
On my return I found multiple answer machine messages from them querying whether I had made those purchases or not - this was on my main landline number at the time the transaction apparently took place which just saddened me on their incompetance further since they should have known I was not even in the country to answer let alone go shopping!! muppets...
Ended quite well though, new card sent quickly, had around £40.00 credited to me for the cost of making the phone calls and also (maybe?) a quirk of the whole thing, I ended up with multiple air miles to the value of what they spent. nice which gave me enough for 2x freebie flights!
Off topic somewhat...but really does make you wonder aboout how their security processes really do function....Beware Lego Men with Deep pockets...! :cool:0
