i didnt win a penny on my 30k ... and the tax man didnt get a penny out of it either.

compensation enough when you think what they would have spent my money on.

I think the point has been totally missed here. Premium Bonds are a form of (voluntary) tax.

I accept the rest of the argument but the two things I dislike about PBs are:

    1. It's an investment. If that is the case then so is Roulette.

    2. You get your stake back. Nonsense.

  • GG .... yes you are correct ...inflation will eat into your money if you do not win .

however if you win more than you would have done by placing the money in a bank and consistantly achieve more for the term of holding the bonds then you do get your original stake back.

and therefore by winning more you are not a voluntary tax payer on your "investment"

regarding the term investment .... your also correct , and ns&i would never like to admit that pb's are a gamble ...yet when a prize pops through your letter box what do they say .... YOUVE WON A PRIZE .....

my bank doesnt contact me every year to tell me IVE WON SOME INTEREST ..... no of course not they tell me ive EARNED SOME INTEREST ....

if your happy keep em ...if not sell em ....... its all about choice
  • Full holding.

This time i got 4 prizes.

    £100 x 1
    £50 X 3

so £250 for me this month.
  • According to the nsandi website I have won 2 x £50 this month, but the cheques have not arrived yet.

Also according to the site, I have to wait till the end of the month to complain about non-delivery.

    Here's waiting in anticipation.

I haven't received mine yet which is very unusual. However, I don't think the post is 100% back to normal yet.

Still waiting here for 5 x £50. At least it appears a general problem

Perhaps you can send a bill for the lost interest to the Communication Workers Union for the delays due to postal strikes.
