Sorry hollydays it was a bit of a joke (Not very good one I know), if you read the thread you will sort of get it. The thread is a fairly good example of the power of the poeple on Money Saving Expert Forums as if you google the restaurant the threads come up so their customers can make an inform decision

Has anyone else any experience of La Tapas (Preferably not their family this time)
  • Hi, I live in West Wickham and know of several people who have been to this restaurant and exactly the same happening,(and as you say for not just one extra bottle but several) normally when in large groups, one group in particular when they argued about being charged for several bottles of wine too many the manager became quite nasty (and physical when they left.) One person I know actually went back again after this had happened to her before and said to the manager that they was going to keep all the bottles they had drank on the floor next to the table so they knew exactly how many they had drunk and he STILL Tried to charge them for too many bottles when the bill came.
I must also say that people i know who have eaten in there (couples or groups of 4) have enjoyed it and not been overcharged. I myself will not be visiting this restuarant I wouldn't want to sit there all night worrying about a big argument when the bill arrived.

So the lesson is to go to this restaurant and not drink anything there and consider no desserts and then you will have a nice meal and not get ripped off.
  • Shame really, it had all the makings of a really nice restuarant but it's reputation is now more for it's overcharging than it's food.

Broadly compliant with food safety legislation. More effort required to meet all legal requirements.
