    my duvet is faux suede

Tm, Your post reminded me that I saw something advertised in a shop last week as "simulated faux suede":D in our church prayer meeting we keep a diary which people can put prayer requests into which we now refer to as being covered in "genuine mock letherette":D (well, it makes us laugh)

Definately no to ironing sheets and duvet covers but I do iron my pillowcases. If you fold them nicely before they go in the cupboard they come out ok and if other half was to complain after 32 years he would be told to iron them himself. I only iron shirts hankies teatowels and pillowcases life is too short.
  • I don't do much ironing at all, everything gets tumble dried and folded as soon as the dryer finishes, the only things i ever iron are the odd pair of jeans but i find i get away with that as well most of the time. I do 10 loads of washing a week so ironing that lot would be a full time job, and no we don't all walk round in creased clothes, carefully folding while they are still warm means they don't crease.

Ironing bedding of any description? Ironing hankies (I use tissues anyway)? Ironing tea towels????????

Next you'll be admitting you iron socks.

No offence is intended, you've just made me laugh that's all.

The only things that I iron are my daughters school uniform, the occasional pair of jeans and maybe... just maybe a t-shirt now and again.

......ironing tea towels and bedding is plain wierd!!!

I don't iron anything, can't remember the last time I picked up an iron! I go on the basis that provided stuff gets folded pretty neatly, it'll all be ok when you need to wear them, and as for sheets...they are going to get creased again as soon as I put them back on the bed, so there's no point.

Maybe when I have finished this student lark and have to do the 'smart' thing at work this may change...but I doubt it!

My mum irons loads of stuff though, bedding and almost every item of clothing in the house (but not towels)...except when we were little I can remember her sending my dad to work in winter with only the front bit of his shirt and the cuffs ironed, as he'd have his jacket on all day so no need to iron the back...can't imagine her doing that now though.
One thing...that sets pulses racing...that gets hearts pounding...for which there is no substitute...only YOU can provide...blood.

Only 5% of the eligible population give blood: do something amazing today, save a life, give blood
  • The Aga irons them :j I just smooth them out and place them on top of the hotplate :j

But if I didn't have the Aga (and before I had one) then yes, I'd iron them. It's what you do on a Sunday afternoon listening to Radio 4 :D

    p.s. no tumble dryer
