There is nothing in the world like getting out of a nice hot bath, drying off with some nice, clean, fluffy towels and getting into a bed made with freshly washed and ironed sheets.
I iron everything except underwear and towels, I too find it quite theraputic, but, on the other hand I am probably on the verge of OCD or similar, if someone even dares to moves an object in my home then I bite their heads off  .
As for the ironing sheets then I am the wrong person to answer this question as I iron all of one side, fold in half with opposite side facing, iron that, fold in half again with most creased side facing, iron that, and so on and so on until it is the size that it needs to be for putting away."And crawling on the planet's face,

And meaning"0 -
I'm a bloke (single now) I iron everything - Sheets, quilt covers, socks, keks, absolutely everything (thats not the reason I'm single either) Spent £250 on one of those steam generator irons, well worth the money, weeks ironing done in 40 mins or so. I can turn cotton sheets into job lots of white planking in seconds (but not for fun) Now I only have to show my iron to the jeans and they OBEY!
Sheets Sooooooo nice to sleep in too.
Get the iPod plugged into your head, get the board out and get stuck in - live a life - What is to lose (except your sanity)
You don't know whats what till you get a divorce, recommended for all people! (But don't ask about the cooking yet)
P.S. How do you sew shirts onto buttons? The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -
Sorry but life is way to short to iron sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases and jeans.
I hate ironing with a passion and do just enough to get by.
But each to there own.

My mum always does 'sailor's ironing' on big things - don't know whether that's something she made up to avoid getting the real iron out but basically you need 2 people to pull the sheets really taut and fold them up neatly together smoothing down as you go.
I agree with Calley though... life is waaaay to short to iron sheets. The only time I consider it is if I have house guests just to fool them into thinking I really am a domestic goddess!0 -
I don't iron sheets either. I always iron pillowcases though but I have never ironed a duvet cover in my life.
While it is very nice to hear of a man doing the ironing Mr P, I shudder at the thought of you wasting even mere seconds ironing your socks.0 -
I always fold the sheet in half and iron the side next to the crease. I don't bother ironing the bit that hangs over the edge of the board as it gets tucked under the matress anyway.
I always iron bedding as I love get into crisp fresh sheets. I tend to take the bedding off, wash, dry, iron it and put it back all in one day for ultimate freshnessHere I go again on my own....0 -
My housekeeping's a bit hit-and-miss but I always iron my sheets. I just love the feel of freshly ironed, crisp sheets at the end of the day - it's one of life's little luxuries. As for tips, I find that it's easier to iron the sheets when they're slightly damp. Or spray them with a bit of water as you're ironing.0
