Well we went to the park and guess what ... no ducks .... they knew something we didn't - snow and sleet was just around the corner. Beggar it! -we had missed the bus back too. Ended up getting a bus going the other way to go to the aiport to look at the planes. Poor dgs thought we were going on one - bless. There is nowhere at the airport to look at planes any more so we had a "transport" day - travel between the terminals is free so we did lots of buses and the heathrow express. Back to town for a much needed coffee via blockbusters where I bought loads of dvds for £1.99 - seems no one else wanted them and dd18 says she knows why now she's seen them. (the orginal oliver twist, white christmas, holiday inn and some others - what's wrong with those). Met up with dd22 while dropping dgs off and took her to Mr T for the easter eggs and the leg of lamb for mondays' Easter Extravaganza - shock horror - they had run out of both. Have had a rethink and am doing pork instead (yes pork is very appropriate for easter - think of all the new piggy-wiggies gambolling about the fields in spring - sigh) and boxes of chocolate and pressies instead of eggs. The Great Back Garden Easter Egg hunt is going to be a bit strange with fun size bars instead of eggs but thats what you get when you don't plan properly. could have been worse as I was convinced that the shops were open tomorrow and closed on monday - fridge debris soup anyone? Anyhoo dd22 is here for a dvd fest (little does she know what's on offer mwaaahaaahaaahaaa) and steak and chips so will catch up with you all laterI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080

Just had to laugh at this last post, as we went for a short walk on the canal tow path yesterday and the ducks were the same. They knew it was going to snow so they were up out of the water following us along quacking for bread. lol it gave me a fright! I only wanted some fresh air for a few mins as had been feeling lousy with a kidney infection- but we couldn't stop laughing on the way back as the sleet went in our faces.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

Not the right shape and the crosses disappeared but hey tasted fab.
Managed to finish painting all the eggs and made our little Easter tree. I'd post a pic but Pink syas it sounds tacky.

Went shopping in Leeds with three DDs and then treated them to the cinema while I pottered about the shops on my own.
Went to Nandos for a meal before DH picked us up in the car.
Bought DD(14) a top as a surprise and she actually likes it!!!!
Am halfway through a square for smoky and then want to start on some nice red wool for the charity squares.
It was trying to snow so quite pleased to be home with a pot of tea and catching up on here.

At last, almost the end of another c**p day
Cheer up, they said, it can only get better. Why then, after a morning where evrything I touched either broke, got dropped, or went wrong, did I have to do a late shift with TFAWTISNHMIHBBOFS!!! The worst of it is that at about 11.00, "we" have to do the late "patrol" and make sure the toilet blocks are okay and everyone is tucked up in bed with a mug of cocoa    To make things even worse, I haven't got any pointy things and stringy stuff yet. I'm beginning to feel a bit of a fraud.
At times like this, I'm so glad that my doggies love me :j I even managed a "don't worry Dad, I love you" fuss from The Witch earlier on. That's the spaniel btw, not the MIL :rotfl:
