Question do you have a car of your own?
Do you have comprehensive cover on that car?
Or are you included on any comprehensive car ins?
If so you may well be insured to drive the car anyway third party.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
If they've just given you and your mate a warning, they won't do anything further.My_post_#17 wrote:I can't understand why they wouldn't have issued you and your friend [permitting uninsured driver] with fixed penalty notices and/or HORT1s to produce all documents.
As they didn't do that or caution you and tell you you were being reported for the offences then I think you can rest easy, but as said before - learn a lesson from this.
Do you have any contact details for the officer you dealt with? If no, nothing you can do but wait and see. If yes, try to contact them just to put your mind at rest.
AFAIK the cut off point for a summons is 6 months but why would they do that when they could FP notice you at the time?0 -

The police lady did say that they are going to send this to traffic police.
But i am confused and do not understand the procedures the police follows. Especially in a case like this. Why are we dying to live when we are living to die?

Hi James,
With all that's been said by you and Ian, it does sound as though you can put your mind at rest. After all (and it's true) what can be had from worrying about it! You can't alter things if you worry, so try to look beyond the event and hope all will be well.
All the very best James, I wish you well. Take care.

Ah, so it was not the traffice police that stopped you?. Maybe that is why you got no producer? I would say expect a letter in the post from the traffic polce soon.0

Any officer can issue a HO/RT(1) (producer or "seven day wonder" as they are sometimes called) doesn't have to be a traffic officer.
And also Marvin:

If you are a named driver on any insurance you are not usually covered in the Driving other Cars category. Only the policy holder is usually included. (There are exceptions but very rarely)0 -
I forgot to mention that when i was stopped, Me my friend and the car were searched. The police did not provide me with a (Stop and search form). They also did not mention if they wanted me to, obtain the (Search and stop form) from the police station. According to my research the only time they do not have to give me a (Stop and search from) is if they are in an emergency, but from what i saw there was none.
So if they wanted to put points and give me a fine because of this incident, could i use this against them if it goes further? (i.e. court). Why are we dying to live when we are living to die?

Only procedural problems relating to your crime would be an issue, the search wouldnt affect the insurance issue and any use of that in court i reckon would just !!!! the police and judge/magistrate off and get you hammered even more
The fact they are going to tell traffic police suggests to me you will be reported0
