i like the veg, mainly becuase they are not irradiated and full of preservatives... however, this means they don't last long at all... 3 days tops in my experience whereas tesco stuff like their baby corn or mange touts can last a couple of weeks (!). Not so keen on the fruit, i've had a few problems with things like avocados and mangoes being rotten. But they do have a "local produce" section in my local one which i think is great.
The cooked/cured meats are excellent and i'm another fan of the feta cheese.0 -
I want to give Lidl's a try and there is one I can use on my way home from work. Now I know they dont sell the regular branded stuff but that's ok. Today I'm after fruit and veg - is there a good selection? Also I'm after some farm assured sausages and burgers for a BBQ tomorrow - you know the kind, high meat %, free to roam animals etc - would they do this sort of thing?0

fruit and veg definitely worth getting, depends on the offers but normally priced cheaply.
the burgers in the freezers are nice, 100% irish beef mostly, not sure on the sausages, haven't had them yet
have a nice BBQ!Nonny mouse and Proud!!
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience!!

our Lidl usually have some higher spec sausages pork and leek I think, but not sure about farm assured. I nipped into a Sainsbury's yesterday and couldn't believe how expensive their fruit and veg is. Supply is a little more erratic in Lidl, they do tend to run out of things sometimes."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
