Their garlic sausage slices are the best ever. Highly recommended
And the other thing I love (not mentioned above) is not in the least OS, but still yummy. They do bread bun dough in a can (like you used to get croissant dough? which in fact, they sell right next to the bun dough) All you do is pop open the can, reshape the little balls and bung them in the oven. A guilty pleasure!!! A cool treat for a "picnic" tea, fresh bread rools and their incredible selection of deli meats....0 -
We like their cooked ham, pepperoni slices and grated mozzarella for pizzas. Fruit and veg are ok and stewing beef really good value and lean. Also buy cereal bars and ground coffee, jam, tinned toms and sweetcorn. Frozen lamb is good for casseroles and good price, frozen fish is also good and useful to have. Umm, probably more but can't think at the moment!0

We've liked everything of theirs we've tried, with the exception of their fresh veg - not impressed with that. Their supercheap shower gel in the grey/silver and blue packaging is great. Their strawberry jam is the best ever, and we always use their white bin bags with the yellow drawstring - superstrong. Their cream of veg cupasoup with croutons is really very very nice. Our cats won't eat their catfood though.0

Not too impressed with the frozen fish - even frozen, when you open the bag it's a bit whiffy!“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

I can't really say there is anything that I have bought from Lidl that I really didn't like. I like their frozen chicken products (Kiev, nuggets) because they are from proper chicken pieces, not the chopped re-formed c**p that other supermarkets sell. As others have mentioned, their cooked meats are excellent, as is their cheese. I haven't had any problems with their washing-up liquid as others have spoken of.
To be honest, it is all about your own taste. As with changing brands anywhere, you have to try it yourself to know if you will like it. I haven't shopped anywhere else for years and I love it. I like Aldi too but find it a bit pricier than Lidl, even though there is usally more choice.
In my local store the fruit & veg can be a bit hit & miss. Cheap & good quality, but quite often sold out!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

I am off to lidl this week as my butcher is on holiday and cant face the market with 3 kids in tow!! I love lidl cooked meats and find the fresh meat is usually good quality esp.the mince ,burgers and kebabs etc (they did a peppered steak last time I went in that was really nice but havent been for a while...cheese is great value and the fr eggs are very cheap. Hot tomato sauce has just been recommended to me by sil so am going to try that..I like the tomato ketchup. If you like icecream then try their vanilla in a blue tub I think ..its not the cheapest but has real vanilla in it (it looks peppered lol) and is the best I have ever tasted forget walls
!.
Veg is often half price or less but a little hit and miss. The best thing to do is try stuff and see and dont be put off by some of the dodgy packaging!:jJAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

And dont take Credit Cards
My local one does, but only certain ones, can't remember which because I tend to use cash for shopping, sure it's on the website.
I think it's down to personal taste, I work on the rule of 'we'll try anything once' if I buy it again or not is another matter. The prices are good enough on most things to give them a try. Basics are good, passata, rice, tinned tomatoes, tomato puree, yoghurts (ours had the muller stars on offer) mayo, cheese etc we do also like their beans, many say the meat is great but I get ours elsewhere. Lots of people use the dishwasher tablets but I haven't tried them myself yet. Ours had heinz tomato soup on offer last time I was in aswell as a few other things. Cheap redbull type stuff that DP likes with his vodka, it's only about 25p a can.One day I might be more organised...........

they actually have real whole strawberries in them, just like jam used to have
I'm so glad you said that.. I'll not buy it then.. Ihate squidgy lumps of fruit in my jam.. so I usually buy the mixed fruit jam as it has no bits.
The hi-juice squash is nice. even I drink it!
Best to go fairly early if you want fresh fruit and veg.. by lunch time here it is only the junk that is left!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

If you're going to the store in Poole, keep clear of a good-lookingmiddle aged man who's got far too much grey hair, is continually muttering to himself about everything, is whistling "Solitaire" by Andy Williams,
and is on his own
