Sorry for your loss.
When my BF died suddenly I picked Thank You For the Days by Kirsty McColl and The Pink Panther by Hentry Mancini. Still sadly missed by me and DS.0 -
Sorry for your loss.
My ex-boyfriend (35) was buried just after Xmas 2006 - he had 'Another One Bites the Dust'. Made me laugh through my tears. His brother who died over ten years ago now (aged 15) planned his own funeral and there were balloons and his coffin was wheeled in on a skateboard
I would love time to say goodbye as my song or Arms of An Anel by Sarah McLauchlan.
One young girl (12) who died when I was at school had 'Three Times A Lady' but I can't listen to that song now
Bless them both and your BIL.0 -
Hi, sorry to hear of your loss.
How about R Kellys I Wish.......I think he wrote that for when a good friend of his died.
On a personal note, I want either 'wish me luck as you wave me goodbye' or 'return to sender'I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like youwould like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing

Lucie Silvas - Forget me not. I imagine its about an old relationship, but its a very emotive song for me and always makes me think of my granny. Id like it played at my funeral (hopefully a long time from now).
Will say a prayer for your BIL and family x
p.s. these r the lyrics if u dont know the song
"Forget Me Not"
Forget me not, I ask of you
Wherever your life takes you to
And if we never meet again
Think of me every now and then
We had just one day to recall
Now all I want is something more
Than just a fading memory
Left wondering what could have been.
Isn't it a shame, that when timing's all wrong
You're doing what you never meant to,
There's always something that prevents you.
Well I believe in fate, it had to happen this way
But it always leaves me wondering whether...
In another life we'd be together.
We should feel lucky we can say... we've always got yesterday
And as I leave it all behind
You're still emblazoned in my mind
And for that very special day
Nobody loved me in that way
Forget me not, I ask of you
Wherever your life takes you to
And if we never meet again
Think of me every now and then

At my Nans funeral, we played "Somewhere", the Charlotte Church version (there have of course been many others) but my Nan did like her voice, the words are amazing....0

Sorry to hear of your families recent loss.
I'd also suggest 'Thank you for the Days'. I'd known this song for ages and sung along to the chorus but never realised what the lyrics were all about until I had to find a song for a funeral and somehow picked this one, and then realised how apt the lyrics were.
I went for the the original version by the Kinks ....

We also played 'Albatross' by Fleetwood Mac.
This is the music Marks and Spencer used in their adverts and we were able to turn to our children on the way in and say 'Not just any Nanny but an extra special Nanny' which gave us all a smile without upsetting anyone.

Just remembered the Kinks version is just called 'Days'.
The lyrics are here if you want a read through.
