    I'm confused. :o

Wannasavemoney. I have never made Hot Cross Buns in my puff. Glad you liked the recipe, whoever it belonged to.:D

Grannybroon. I could have sworn your light was on a few times last week. I thought you were lurking from the loft. ;)

Hester, I'm glad you're feeling youthful. have you warned OH? :p

We've had a quiet day in the end. It's been snowing on and off so we lit the fire and stayed home. Just had Hm chicken and sweetcorn soup with crusty bread in front of the fire. :o Off to paint some eggs in a minute. :D

Yes it was on only for about 1 or 2 minutes each time before work chopped me off - they don't like 'social networking' as they call it. I couldn't get to folks profiles to get to previous posts. A nightmare. You would think a Council would like us to save money!!!!!!!!! They don't let us post, see who has thanked us, and they have tightened up on the laptop log-ins which I thought I could use!

Hope you are OK. (Are you on holiday? - We finished up last night for 2 weeks' school holidays but DGSs are off this weekend but have to go back to nursery etc next week!)

    Take care.

Well. I am finding this post rather difficult following catching up with Smoky.

I have not caught up much as my computer has been very sick, work doesn't at all like me keeping up (and have totally been chopped off the way I thought I could keep up!).

Just want to say the last week has been very stressful but nothing like others of you. Two airport runs yesterday. DH back from 4 weeks away for hobby holiday. Great swearing when couldn't find stuff in kitchen this morning but he does like it. Second airport run for DS last night and flight delayed - home post midnight so still catching up! He was really upset to find that DGSs Easter eggs totally smashed up in luggage. Well, it is still choc for them and it will taste the same! He is on a home pals weekend (20+ played golf this afternoon, back to drop clubs off and goodness knows when we will see him -aaaaaw well). He loves seeing his pals, we love seeing him briefly home.

Hopefully now I can dip in again soon. (Am I still a hussie?)

Love and hugs to all, congratulations to all who are celebrating whatever, happy birthday to those I have missed and welcome if we have new folk.

I had a bad afternoon.............I wanted to do another ring pillow for the craft fair, started sewing and the hoop shot off, took the thing to bits and re-started just as I was getting to the end I noticed I had made a mistake in the design, tried to alter it.......forget it made a right pigs ear of it, so in the bin it went. started off again.....................job done. Decided to do a small sew out to show what the design would look like in colour...i.e shades of bridesmaid dresses.......It is not a good idea to catch the screen with your elbow when changing threads if you have not saved the design first........I had to start from the beginning and try and line up the design.....after 4 attempts I managed to get it roughly right, but I have some stitches to unpick if I can...............gggggggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Then I realised I had not cooked the quiche for supper. We finally got supper at 6.45pm. Decided not to do any sewing tomorrow..........need a break!!!

It was a nice day until about 3 30pm when the sky went very black and it hammered down with rain.........but its cold..might need a hottie tonight..........thats my excuse and I am sticking to it!!!

OH watching Taggart, so guess it will be a late bedtime tonight.................

I had a similar, event sewing, after yesterday I had one leg of a pair of trousers to sew up, you know how it is one edge comes loose and the whole thread pulls off. So DH found two pair of trousers which needed shortening , so did my one leg, started on DH's one pair was a easy fraying material with edging tapes on so, what started off as hand sewing then needed the machine. Tried to use the machine hemming, but wasn't happy with the result so back to hand sewing. Then he found another pair which we had got from the market in Spain where the trouser legs come off to make shorts, but had not come with a button button hole (should have taken them back but brought them home before we realised). So thought I would try out this machine with a buttonhole maker. Material too thick, so wasted loads of time trying to sort it. Added a large press stud to try that in the end. So at that DH goes through his wardrobe again, and finds a pair which one of his legs had come down, and yet another pair which needed shortening. Well after successfully doing the previous ones, cannot seem to get this last one level, so just left it until tomorrow.

Made some Hot Cross Bun dough in the BM, and DH made them into buns but left me to put them in the oven.

Still not done what I wanted to do three days ago.

    Hey Oh, who cares.

canny lass - it is the one out of my Panny booklet which came with it

    1/2 tspn Years
    250g Strong White Flour
    1tsp Sugar
    25g Butter
    1 tbspn Milk Powder
    1/2 tspn Salt
    1 Egg medium
100ml water (I told DH to add 110ml-he's hi-jacked the BM)
    1tspn Cinnamon
    1/2 tspn Mixed Spice

Mine is the 255 with the raisin attachment so I add 100g Mixed Dried Fruit to the raisin bin, or you add it when it beeps for ones without.

It cookers on Basic Dough Raisin for 2.20 hours.

When done take it out kneed and cut into 8 and turn into 8 balls. Place on a lihtly greased baking tray and let prove. Make a paste with either 2tbspn floor with 2tbspn water and pipe a cross over the buns, or top with think slices of s/crust pastry (or if you are lazy like me cut a cross on them before they go in the oven)

Bake 220 or Gas 7 for 15-20 mins or until golden brown.

While still hot, brursh with a sugar glaze, (40g sugar in 4 tblspn water boiled for about 5 mins until it is a syrup) (I didnt so that bit either).

Hope you can do something with that.

    evening all

have had a lovely evening with dgs3 - downloaded and printed some easter cards for him to colour and we've done some painting as well. He didn't want to go to bed at all but decided that he might be persuaded to read nana a story about a tiger who came to tea and zonked out in the middle of it. dd18 was amazed when she rang to say goodnight as he never normally concentrates on anything for more than a couple of minutes. i think the key is that I don't have the tv on all the time and did have time to sit with him. She is still with the horrible bf - he called while she was dropping off dgs shouting about something so she shouted back and said that he blows up and then calms down like nothing's happened - the last thing she needs is two bl**dy toddlers to deal with especially when one of them is 26. All i can do is keep telling her that she can get out of this and will when she has had enough and that I will be there for her. I expect that this is having an effect on dgs and will try to have him more often to give him a break.

tomorrow dgs and I will go for a walk to feed the ducks and pick up the papers before meeting up with his mum for lunch

have a good rest of the day
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
