I love Las Vegas ...we have stayed in several hotels and the one that I got the best deal at was the Imperial Hotel which was centre strip. To give you an idea we went Mon to Wed and the price included room, breakfast buffet for 2 mornings, 1 evening meal, entry into the Legends show and a few other bits and pieces and it came through on my credit card for the princely sum of £22.54 (ish) (and that was for both of us).

    Some useful links
    http://www.cheapovegas.com/index.php.
    http://www.lasvegasinsider.com/101/index.htm

I used to have a link to a chap that scoured the local newspapers and posted all the deals including the required offer codes onto his site - but I can't find it at the minute (it was thru his site that we got the above offer).

    Here's the link.
Perhaps you should subscribe to the newgroup alt.vacation.las-vegas, tweetie. It's FULL of useful information.

Nice one Margaret that is the very chap I was thinking of (he is the one that got use the £22.54 (ish) deal - it was $16 per person per night, buy one night get one free) - he used to post to a particular web site though but I just can't find the URL.

Hi tweetie, you said you live in Glasgow, I used Scotia Travel, they were great at getting good quotes for hotel rates. Once I had a few good quotes I 'phoned a company that guaranteed to beat your price and even they found it hard to beat the Scotia quotes.
I dont know what age group you fall into but I know a few people who did the Vegas in a week thing and regretted it. 40+. Its a long flight, and if you are one of those people who love Vegas instantly, you'll come back just itching to get back again.
There is so much to do and see, some of the hotels have so many attractions that you could spend a day in each and still not see everything.
A flight over the Grand Canyon is a must, with the Native American village trip thrown in. Great memories of that. Also Stratosphere Tower, you must go on the ride at the top,I DARE YOU!!! I'd miss the New York, New York, roller-coaster, I crawled off that one. The Forum shops at Caesars, take plenty of money, or just watch the statues come to life!
I said earlier that I had two weeks in L.V. I remember now, it was a week in New York, 10 days in Las Vegas and 4 days in Boston. The 10 days was enough to see plenty. I hate flying so anything to break up a journey keeps me happy.
OH wants to go back again to Vegas but I will make sure there are stops on the way there and back. We flew with Continental with no problems.
    Hope that helps. wolf.

    I'm 50 now and I think a week's fine in Vegas icon7.gif Some say 4 nights , but I don't think that's quite enough .

Thanks so much for all your info Margaret, Sheel & Wolf! I work just up from Scotia travel so I might pop down there in my lunchtime - don't know if its poss too soon though?

I think the multi-centre thing is a fab idea, as I've never been to NY and would love it! Will take your advice that 2 weeks is too much - prob only so much neon one person can take! I'm 26 so the traveling etc shouldn't tire me too much - I hope! As I said I'm not fussed about the gambling, or the roller coasters etc (I'm a total wimp - but the OH loves them) but I really just want to see what all the fuss is about - and to go shopping!

Have looked at a few of the flights online and some say £450 odds (but you need to call to check - which prob means they don't exist!) and the airlines sites are quoting around the £650 mark - so poss think I should wait and see if they do any special offers?

If anyone knows of any other companies that are mucho cheap for flights/hotels etc please let me know!

I also fly Continental from Glasgow. However I'm off in a few weeks to California first before L.V. and I found a super site where I got a fantastic price with AA--less than £400, but the details are on my laptop which is out of service at present!

If you go to Scotia, tweetie, make a note of the hotels and the rate and then phone the hotels direct. You will find the numbers on a link that Ivan gave you and using 16688 it will only cost you 2p per minute. I don't think that the hotel prices can be beaten. Well, not often anyway!;)

tweetie, you can try www.chartertravel.co.uk despite the name they will check out all flights, including sheduled for you.

As regards phoning direct to US I'm not sure who 16688 is that is referred to but if you sign up for www.call1899.co.uk its 1p a minute dialing from a BT line or use Martin's call checker here

    Have a great time :D

is there any need to shout?

Edilass was just pointing out that 1899 is the best option for phoning America
and with so many similar predial numbers in use now she may well have thought that 16688 was a new one she hadn't heard of,
of course she has heard of 18866 she's the telephones board guide,
Haven't you read the telephones boards????
