Las Vegas Hotels - Help!

Options
Am thinking about booking Vegas for May-June 06 but am getting v confused over the hotel situation! Keep reading varying reviews on each hotel - some fab some awful!

Has anyone stayed in Vegas and do they have any hotel tips? where to go where to avoid? Have been given good rates for the Luxor and the Orleans.

Also, if anyone has found/has had any good deals - Any help would be great!

    Hi
I will be in Vegas for 3 nights mid sept and we have booked into Luxor so will let you know what it is like. Only hotel I have heard is not so good is circus circus from a colleague. I look at https://www.tripadvisor.com and avoided booking a naff hotel taking note of info on this site! Good hunting. PS I booked whole thing through DialaFlight and the guy there said the Bellagio was very nice if money was no object!!! Get some brochures and check them out.

    hi there - thanks!

have been looking at trip advisor but to be honest am dubious about the advice. went to Barcelona last month and booked a hotel re the advice on the site where everyone said it was great - and it was far from it, everyone said the rooms were lovely but neglected to mention that fact that they were so small that the door hit off the bed! so not too sure about that site now - I suppose it just depends on what you like. but i will have a look at dialaflight - thanks

i went to vegas and stayed at circus circus 2 years ago and it was great. the hotel is just off the main area, however the facilities are good and the rooms were clean. the buffet is the best in vegas and i can honestly say worth every cent. try and get a hotel on the strip. the luxor looker great when i visited it. good luck

Hope this will help you, I stayed at the Luxor about 3 years ago, and I can honestly say it was excellent, lovely rooms, facilities and nice pool area! Not sure about the Orleans I didnt see it in the strip and believe the best hotels are situated here, within walking distance of the other hotels and attractions, the roads are very busy and rather than us,taxi or limo best and quicker to walk! Whilst still on about luxor make sure you get a tower room, these are newer and the rooms in the pyramid were smaller, with angular height restricted walls and not as tastefully decorated when I went. Avoid Circus, Circus yeuck!! What dates are you thinking of goin? Not being nosy just wanted to tell you about the whether!

sorry, i can see now that you are planning to go may/june, last couple of years weve been in may its warming up nicely and abit cooler at night, in june onwards it can get really hot, previously when we stayed at the luxor we went in april and it was very cold at night I'd be tempted to try and book for may. Have you looked at staying at the venetian or treasure island both are also very nice and the venetian is all suite so lots of space for all.

If you want to economise and still stay slap in the middle of town, try the Imperial Palace. Join their free card scheme for gambling (even if you don't intend to use their facilities) and get great buffet breakfasts for free.

Try getting a deal at the Flamingo, Ballys or the Monte Carlo. The Flamingo would probably be the least expensive but in the BEST location. Right in the centre of the strip, opposit the bellagio. looks like a really good hotel at a really good price.

If you want a more quiet hotel try Ballys. The rooms are larger than most vegas hotels but it shares its facilities with the Paris Las Vegas next door.

The Luxor looks really nice too but is quite far from the centre strip for the price. I would stay somewhere a bit closer to the action.

Dont want to confuse you with advice about even more hotels. I used to work in Vegas so if you want in depth info, PM me.

Remember that hotel rates are cheaper Sun - Wed night and more expensive Thur - Sat night to account for all the Americans that pop there for the weekend and the place is a WHOLE lot busier at the weekends i.e in some casinos there can be queues to get on some gaming machines.

I have stayed at the circus circus....sahara...imperial palace...mgm grand...mandalay bay...and the alladin.....and liked them all....I personally dont think there is a bad hotel on the strip, just depends how much you want to pay.

One of the best value wise and position is the imperial palace.

Can I ask how you have got good quotes already for may june next year as some of the best rates are by booking direct with the hotels and they dont release their rates until 8 months before.

We are going in April next year, flights are booked but am prob going to hold off till about 8 weeks before and then book hotel(s) in vegas.

    Hope this helps
