if i attempt to make bread using flour, yeast, salt etc (not using the pre-mix flour), will I get good results? It just seems that so many things can go wrong this way according to the section at the back of my manual when the loaf doesn't rise or sinks etc0

Can I ask where you bought the Tesco BM? Looked on there website and the cheapest one is almost £40!
Thanks for your advise in advance.Challenges:

Yes I bought it from the New Malden store. They were reduced by £15. I agree with you about the website price though as when I did a site search they still come up at £39.990

They were reduced on the website, thats when i bought mine. They put the price back up when people started buying them! The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

It should work, just be sure for your first attempt you stick with strong white bread flour, and you use the quick type yeast [should say suitable for Bm or similar on it]
Once you have mastered that bit then you will know it works, and then experiment until it doesn't work:rotfl:
Wholemeal is more awkward, which is why many make 50/50 bread, which is made using 50% white & 50% wholemeal floursEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

Thanks Farway - I had realised about wholemeal being a bit awkward.0 -

Just loooking at this online and they state that you have access to a panasonic helpline, but the breadmaker looks the same as the morphy richards one. Are morphy richards and panasonic the same co.?0
